I realize this is not breaking news at this point, but I wanted to show the love to our newest Muskie.

I don’t know if we are going to see any more players added to next year’s roster, but I feel like Lassina is that piece we were really missing that now makes our team complete: A Legit big (6’10”) who defends well in the paint and rebounds at an elite level.

FYI --- This kid's name is Lassina, but it looks like he uses the first name Basile on all his socials.

What's his story?

One year for X. Played at St. Louis and Long Beach. He's a pretty good option given our front court depth.

Not a huge scorer, but big time rebounder. Sean likes his toughness on defense, although his style isn't really going for blocks. Played well against his only Big East competition last year, DePaul. His team went to the dance last season.

I think this team really only lacks a shot blocker. With that said, anyone can count the number of blocked shots which is really the typical way to measure the effectiveness of a shot blocker. But what is not “counted” are the shots altered that end up as a miss.

If Traore can do that, we will be good.

If we don’t have a shot blocker and also don’t have someone to alter shots…..then I hope we can score 95 points a game.

If you scout us, interior Defense is probably our weak spot.
