Not a typo for the broadcasters - Byron Larkin is going to Florida for the weekend for his niece's wedding and we'll get a cameo from Steve Wolf alongside Joe Sunderman in his place.

X -13.5. A nice comfortable non stomach churning win would be nice.

A couple numbers to chew on:

Xavier was 10-1 against DePaul during Chris Mack's tenure. I think the only win that was not double digits was the 2018 game in Chicago that clinched the outright Big East title for X.

Since Travis took over, X is 6-4 against DePaul. Could easily have been 5-5 if not for a comeback in the BE Tournament last season. That has got to change starting today. Today is supposed to be National Blue Demon Day with their fans (all 500 of them) being prodded to wear blue tonight.

I would love to see X's defense hold DePaul to under 30 points at halftime.

Not only did Seton Hall hold DePaul under 30 at halftime, they held them under 40 for the entire game earlier this week.

We are seeing Kathleen Madigan (comedian) at a place near us at 7pm. This is one time I don’t hate the late start.

Thanks for the update! Definitely alleviated my future stress level. Now can you do that for the game itself?

DePaul isn’t very good competition but good showing. Liked Lazar’s three but not certain that is the best place for him. Like Claude playing near the basket as his outside shot is MIA.

Of course. If it wasn’t for our fans, it would be typical. Still not sure why Chicago made the decision to put arena on the Southsideish. Correction, I know why but not good for the University. Well except it was financially beneficial.

Why can’t X blow away this awful team ? Anything less than a 25 point blow out is not too great.

I know it’s the same story every night. But my goodness, we just don’t run anything to get bigs a look in the post. I think Sean said after one of the Q3 losses that he’s ready to live and die with the guards. That’s fine with me, wins most games in college. But also nice to get some easier buckets from a big here and there too lol

Even when you're doing that, you'll still get punished for taking a fucked up shot. Lazar also took one and promptly got benched.

But it was nice to see Q put up a career night against an Oliver Purnell-inspired defense. On to Nova.

Didn’t read the whole thread, so this might have been mentioned……the lookin on the X huddle in the 2nd half was very interesting IMO. Miller basically called out O for taking that 40 footer and reminded everyone that they are playing for X and not themselves. Don’t take f-uped shots! Move, cut hard, and share the ball! If you do that, you will get good open shots and the TEAM will score! Even up 20 and the game in hand he wasn’t about to let them revert to street ball.

Also very interesting, and I’m sure will be pointed out to the team…..they are now 11-1 when they have 17 or more assists. 1-9 when they don’t.

The Nova game is next. Time to get some revenge.

Matt Stainbrook was in the house last night. Maybe Sean reached out to him for a few pointers.

Or maybe an Uber to O'Hare.

I noticed it also and think that it is really great coaching. Up fourteen but game not yet in hand. Miller could have let it go; many coaches would. But he wanted to make a point and it was a great one. "You're playing for Xavier". Loved it.

I had no issue with Q's shot - it was a heat check. It was worth it to get yelled at, every baller does it, it's what makes them a baller.

I'll have to review the tape, but I think the shot in question was a long three attempt by Lazar early in the shot clock followed by a Tre Green turnover. Quincy seems to have the perpetual green light and if so, that is justified. It is key to what makes him so good.

I believe they count, but there is a complicated discounting factor. I wouldn't swear to it, but I believe last night's effort counts for 27.87654 points against an actual basketball team.

Your math is slightly off. If you go back and review your calculations, there is a logarithmic function associated with the square root of the ratio of conference home wins to conference road losses. That part you got right but I think you neglected to take the reciprocal of that function into account in your computation. Not a bad estimate though.

I know many are aware, but Q also led the team in rebounds with 10. Double double to cap off his excellent night.
