Just received my parking pass. No longer a placard that hangs from your mirror but rather a digital pass for your phone. Will these need to be scanned before you can enter your designated lot?

I think so. This is going to be a major clusterfuck with every car having to stop so someone can scan your parking pass. Going to be even more fun in the rain or snow.
Thanks for posting this. I got the email with my game tickets yesterday, but didn’t have the parking passes today. Found it in my Junk folder.

Attendants will have scanners that are capable of either reading a parking pass or scanning a credit card for $10-$20 depending on where you park. It'll take a few games to get used to.
Just leave early so everyone can be in their seats for the national anthem and all that jazz.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say lots of people will be late and miss tipoffs for a number of games, especially for 6:30 tips. The worst part is no more free Skyline cheese coneys.

The coupon on the back of the paper parking pass was a BoGo for a coney

Went to Miami football game last weekend. They have electronic parking passes. Went pretty smooth because they had 3 people scanning at each gate. Also pass still had Culver’s coupon so you can scan at restaurant.

Cintas parking is kind of hard to go 3 wide anywhere though. Eventually everyone has to kind of end up back in one lane to park. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Totally get your point. Of course a lot more room and gates at Miami. However, they didn’t do 3 wide and they too have single lanes going in. They were able to have 3 scanners in a stack formation. Other words, 3 back to back cars with 3 people scanning the line.
Hard to explain, Cintas will figure it out somehow.

Ah, got it.
Yeah, probably will be some growing pains but eventually it will get figured out.

I wonder if Cintas will also switch to the scan machines inside for tickets like most venues seem to have now.

One of my complaints last year was they went cash free inside, but then cash only in the parking lots (non-permit lots.) So I appreciate the change if for no reason than I don't have to remember to cash out of the ATM before I leave the office and head down.

These are free standing kiosks that people scan their tickets on. It cuts down on the number of people required to scan tickets. I realize they've had hand scanners for some time.

That new for this year? I didn’t see anything like that last year.

Most sporting events I have been to recently still have people scanning the tickets including a cardinals game in AZ, the Reds games, Giants game in NY, X games.
Subway in NYC is one place I know where I have been that has the free standing self scanners then the door opens.

Many of the outdoor concerts I went to this summer had the free standing kiosks once you went through security.
