He has announced that he is quitting basketball for health reasons. Will remain in school at X and work on getting his undergraduate degree.

I wish him the best for his future.

Wow. I guess nobody cares that Logan Duncomb is stepping away from Basketball due to health reasons.
Too bad and what a shame for the kid.
I hope he is ok and can build himself a life outside basketball.
Good luck kid. Once a Muskie, always a Muskie. :-(

First I've heard of it. We obviously weren't expecting much from him on the court, but of course still sad that his health is forcing him to give up the game.

Doesn't this actually fix the scholarship issue? I thought X was 1 over before this

Yes, you are on the internet, in two different threads, with absolutely zero knowledge of anything going on with this player, calling him out for stepping away from basketball.

Internet tough guy.......

It seemed like they were more than 1 but you may be right. Either way seems to help in that area.

good question. I guess I assumed Duncolmb would lose his scholarship if he quit the team. But he says he's staying at XU. So thats like 60K+ per year that he walked away from.

really hard to say. If he had a legitimate, physical injury that FORCED him to stop playing then maybe the school would keep him on scholarship out of goodwill, and maybe the NCAA would allow that somehow and give back a scholly for the team to use? Not sure if thats possible. Seems like the "right" thing to do. Let the kid stay in school, but dont punish the team.

If it was something "different" that led to him quitting the team, then I would assume the team would yank the scholarship back, right? maybe the school could step in with some other Financial Aid if thats allowable.

In this new era of NIL, there are no longer scholarship issues. The tuition of players who aren't on scholarship, and aren't walk-ons, is paid for through the NIL collective.

Yeah but I wouldn't call that not an issue. That's money that could go to players that instead is going to pay the players tuition. There are plenty of players who wouldn't come to have the NIL money that would otherwise be going to them go to pay their tuition instead.
