Seems ok to me. I count 3 sat and 1 Friday night. Other 6 are during the week.

Overall I think the home slate is avg. but that may be because I felt last years was so damn good.

Yeah 3 Saturday home games. At least 2 of 3 are with Creighton and Marquette.

As I'll be training for Boston and need to get long runs in on the weekends I'm selfishly okay with limited Saturday home games this season. Should rebalance to more next year when I wont have to worry about it. :)

It's not like the days of the A-10 when Xavier had a bunch of Thursday-Saturday turnarounds; I'm not going to complain at all about the schedule. In fact, quite a few potential weekend roadies could be on the plate this year.

Being out of town, I'm a fan of weekend road trips to Cintas, but not a fan
of attending road games as a visitor. Just a matter of preference for me.

I think there's also an unwritten bylaw that Xavier has to play at Villanova in that home-and-home series first. I can't recall a single year where X hosted them first.

Okay. You’re crazy. The 6:30 games are tough to get to before tipoff with rush hour traffic. The late games never start on time, so you’re getting home late and are probably still wired from the game so getting to sleep is tough.

I will not talk to my elders in that fashion; it's only 30 years to go before I have to yell at people in front of me to not stand the entire game.

What's really scary is that I'm only 5 years away from being eligible for a Senior Discount for Reds games.

Holy Crap! I just saw that the Reds give Senior discounts starting at age 50?

Aren’t we supposed to be living longer these days? Why is the age of a senior dropping?

First 65 was considered being a senior. Then 62. Now if your 50, people are trying to call you as a senior.
That would mean Clint Eastwood has been a senior for 43 years.

I wonder how much COVID contributed to this.

Could be although I think it started to drop prior to Covid. Drug overdose deaths has risen sharply over the last 20 years as well. Also find it interesting that the Us spends more on prescription medication than any other country, so that could have an impact. My guess is lifestyle and lack of exercise has something to do with it too.

I turn 62 in a few days, and a few us similar aged guys were talking about how we are the FIRST generation that has consumed processed and "fast food" diets our ENTIRE lives.

The "frozen dinner" was introduced around the time I was born, along with stuff like frozen waffles, pop tarts, fortified sugary cereals etc. Then along came the '60's explosion of fast food chains. Not to mention the food companies began to find ways to hide sugar in there products every chance they get. This is our "national diet" and it is extremely unhealthy.....creating the most obese society in human history.

The point being, most folks older than me and the generations before, had food choices that were far more limited and overwhelmingly fresh meats/vegetables. The days when every little town had a butcher, a milk/egg guy, produce stand and just about everyone had fruit trees and a garden.

Huge difference.

This is not a coincidence. The idea that keeping us unhealthy and in need of medicines for our entire lives so that we are dependent on a corrupt system is more than just a crackpot conspiracy theory.

Nonsense.

AARP will send you their first pitch letter for membership on your 50th birthday.

Centrum Silver is aimed at those 50 and up.

You should be getting your shingles vaccine at age 50.

I know not every business says their senior discount is at 50, but a lot of society views 50 and up as senior citizens. Live with it!

Also noticed that Xavier plays at UConn on a Sunday; I might make that trip if they play that at the XL Center. Tickets gonna be tougher to get if they play that at Gampel.

One of my UConn friends told me I'd be better served also going to the Georgetown at Providence game taking place 2 days earlier at Providence (aka Cooley's return to the AMP).

Wow. How did they end up having to play Bryant on a Friday at noon?

I know some people are at home after Thanksgiving. But it's not a holiday. Most folks work then. Ticket sales will likely be poor.

Does the Fox Sports app allow you to watch archived games now?

Sorry for the tangent, but in banking that was one of my favorite days to work. Few of our clients were working, so it was almost like a work day without work. We got to spend a little quality time with both staff and the few clients we saw/talked to. I look back on that fondly, even though I’m sure I really wanted to be off that day.
