First of all, congrats Colby!
That is a boatload of money. 2nd round picks aren’t guaranteed to get guarantee money in the CBA. How did he swing that deal?

That’s a fantastic deal for a second round pick. They must really like him a lot.

It was reported the Kings used the new second round pick exception to sign Colby, the first player to ever be signed using this. Still not clear exactly what that is and how it may have benefitted Colby vs being a 2nd round pick in other years, if at all.
I did read that the money he got was equivalent to if he would have been the 24th pick in the draft last year.

Awesome. Great fit team wise and now set for life if he spends and budgets wisely no matter what happens.
I don’t know the particulars but I do know that some 2nd rounders get guaranteed money, and others don’t. Individualized basis.
Colby can afford tuition now. Congrats!

Watched him play in the summer league, he had 12 points and was handling the ball alot. Also noticed Souley on the bench with the Kings also, but he did not see action.
