Feels great to be sitting here on Selection Sunday just waiting to see where and who X is going to be playing next week.

Sean has brought X back from the wilderness in one year.

I think X will definitely be a 4 seed.

One of the best days of the year is one of the best days of the year again. Reminds me that we would not be eagerly awaiting our bid without the Steel Balls (http://www.xavierhoops.com/showthread.php?35156-Honorary-Steel-Balls-Award) of Greg Christopher and President Hanycz to bring Sean Miller home.

Most of us just wanted to get back to the tournament, period. Getting one of the best seeds in program history out of the gate is beyond wildest expectations. This is a huge milestone in correcting the trajectory of Xavier Basketball.

Tonight they return to a dance that they EARNED an invitation to, and one bad game doesn’t change that even a little bit. They have earned the chance to compete against the best in the land in a win or go home tournament. I’m feeling pretty proud of this team. ALL of them, the coaches and the support staff and the players, have worked hard to earn this chance. I’m confident that they will make the most of it. A lot of the hurt of yesterday will go away when they hear their name called tonight.

I don’t want Texas as the 2 or Kansas as the 1. Don’t want Kansas because they are going to have two home games in the sweet 16 and don’t want Texas because frankly I think they are a matchup nightmare.

Other than that, I’ll take whatever comes along.

Boys, it was a great regular season. Sean was “Maestro Miller” guiding these guys from what they were, through a bunch of injuries to what we will be, which is a 4 seed. I’ve gotten my Xavier email telling me I have tix in Columbus if we’re placed there.

Plus if Dayton wins I think Kent State moves to a 12 seed and keeps Kent State from playing Xavier as a fan of both teams I don't want to see that matchup.

For the love of God, don't say such things. See performances against DePaul & Butler. I trust Miller to gameplan, but Xavier has shown they are fully capable of the first round upset.

I prefer playing a team known for their defense and meh offense. I think our scheme is slightly unusual and we can put up points most the time regardless. But they have a few guys that can score. And they did beat Kansas twice

But still- in February alone they lost to WVA twice, Oklahoma and OK ST. (Among a lot of other losses to ranked teams) and then they kicked off one of there better players last week

If the first round game is a close one, take comfort in the fact that Kennesaw is a bad FT shooting team.

But they've had quite the turnaround in recent memory; it was only 3 years ago where they were literally the worst team in all of Division 1 basketball.

I'll take Texas for sure. Xavier has historically gotten pistol whipped by the PAC-10 in the tournament. We have much more success vs the Big 12 in general.

I get the feeling Mississippi State beats Pitt. They have some athletic dudes. I would like to match up with them though, they do not shoot threes very well at all. Well they don’t shoot anything well. 42% from floor and 64% from the line. Good defense though it appears and they pound the offensive glass. Not sure they could beat Iowa State.
