Xavier head coach Sean Miller spent three years on the staff of former Xavier and current Butler head coach Thad Matta from 2001-04. Miller, who Matta hired as XU's first-ever associate head coach, took over as XU head coach in 2004 after Matta left for Ohio State.

They only played 6 guys. I can't believe this loss happened. So many horrible turnovers for no reason tonight in the 1st half. Still in the end just needed 1 stop to get to OT and I would felt great about OT.

Not if you just look at the first half, we played much better in the second half and then we had a few bad calls - which were the difference in the game. That’s how I am feeling. I do get that we missed way too many free throws. Still, anytime points are unfairly given to one team, you gotta think the other team deserves some love from the basketball Gods.

I think this will turn out to be good in one way- they know now that they can lose to anyone.

It was extremely close.. I think at home they reverse it, but on the road not gonna get the call. Can’t show up ten minutes of the game and expect to win. Sick of losing to shit teams… been doing it now for five years. Luckily it won’t keep x out of the tourney this year but I’m sick of it
