Upon entering the Cintas Center for the game, another Xavier promotion was at hand as a young lady handed me a small card. I was really excited upon receiving a 2022-2023 basketball schedule seeing that it is now February. I like free stuff as much as the next guy but wouldn’t it have been better to wait until Senior Day?

You sound like one of the guys complaining about the lack of halftime shows earlier in the year. I do like the magnetic schedules and it’s an odd time to do the giveaway but….who cares. Sheesh

These weren't schedules; they were actually trading cards. Supposedly there's a complete set in the Xavier bookstore at Cintas, but they were giving away card samples.

Yeah I’m with the others. Not sure why you get so worked up over a giveaway

Not complaining at all, guys! Just being a bit sarcastic. Until a couple years ago when we remodeled the kitchen, my refrigerator had 10 year old schedule magnets adorning the door.

I thought it was funny.

What is worse, after XBand’s post, I finally looked at the back of the card today. It is in fact a trading card. The young lady who gave it to me never corrected my stated assumption that it was a schedule. In any event, I no longer have a bicycle that I could use to put the card between the spokes (has that ever happened in the last four decades?). I don’t suppose I could use it to get that Mickey Mantle card I traded as a kid for a Johnny Edwards’ card (he was a catcher for the Reds).
But if the Xavier cards include a Steve Thomas or a Bob Quick then I am good to go.
