Are there any Xavier bars in NYC? Will be there for NYE and need a good bar to watch it. Also any good dive bars for NYE Night. Don’t want to do the touristy things.

McSorley’s in the Bowery.

Not a dive per se (well, these days).

Might not have TVs.

Cash only.

Good place to visit in any case.

A few blocks north of Joey Ramone Place which is must-see.

Have a ball.

If Xeus were around, he would have recommended the Blue Oyster Bar.

Come to think of it PHEBE’S is right down the Bowery from McSorley’s and is NYC’s self-proclaimed “Bengals’ Bar.”

Or was, the last time I went by.

And with that said, it won’t be a tourist place.

They’ll have the game on.

Looks like you’re headed for the Lower East Side.

You won’t regret it.

That is where Xavier fans always gather at the Big East Tournament.
Problem is, it’s close to Madison Square Garden and Xavier is playing out in Queens. Not exactly an easy commute.

For “dive bars” I highly recommend Fraunces Tavern at 54 Pearl Street in New York- down around the Battery/Financial District. It also contains the Dingle Whisky Bar inside of it. I’ve downed many a great Bourbon there.

Made it to Phebe’s house Xcellent choice!!! Met a guy named Sal who has lived in the same apartment for 83 years. I guess he comes here everyday. Very nice place! Still a bengals bar too.
