If you were into Kentucky basketball back in the day, Sean Woods has a kid of this team. Don't think he plays much.

It would be the stuff of legend if Boum can finish the year shooting this hot. I’m serious, if we get in the tourney and get a couple wins, those of us remaining in a couple decades will talk about that special season. He’s hitting 50% from 3, and hits from all over the floor!

I also love a guy we can trust at the FT line. What a relief.

X bench is pretty awful. Man are they ugly!

Good to see Craft make some shots but man, he is not very confident

That’s what this time is for. They are making a big step up. All will be fine.

Byron made that exact comment about Craft but also said Miller doesn't yet trust his bench. I believe it----Claude didn't play confidently either although I'm happy with Hunter's contribution. If we are going to compete for one of the top spots in the B.E. we must have stronger bench play.

Game went about what I expected as Xavier had a big size advantage in the front line, and a talent advantage across the board. Miller could have left the starters in, as Steele used to do, and they might have won by 35-40. But I’m happy he let others get some playing time, especially the minutes that Dez and Craft got, as that’s how you develop the underclassmen for the future. Have to wonder how much better players like Miles and Tandy might be if they had gotten some playing time the last couple of years.

Either that or his escapades at Morehead that got him fired.

I expect them to get some good minutes against G'town also. Get them into the BE environment - such as it is in Georgetown.

I don't think we should count on that Georgetown game being an easy one.

The good news is that with Claude and Craft being Freshmen there is reason to believe that they will continue to improve as the season goes on. Hopefully by the time we get into late January those guys can play meaningful minutes to keep the starters from wearing down.

I agree. I don't think any road game is going to be easy with this group due to the lack of intensity on defense. Couple that with the church like atmosphere that is sure to occur there, and I feel like X may sleepwalk to a win

I didn't see the whole game, but it looks from the box score that Edwards got 7 minutes.
Was 1-1, had a rebound and a block, but 1 foul and 2 TO's.
At least he gave someone a breather, but I had hoped he would develop to be a good backup.

What was his issue? The TO's?

Obviously Georgetown isn't a good team, but I mentioned in another thread that I looked at their roster, and it's really not terrible. They've got some dudes, so they can be dangerous on any given night.

Yes. turnovers were an issue. Miller stated in postgame that Southern specializes in turnovers as they play very fast. X play for 60-80% of the game was ok. Defense looked good with starters and Hunter.

I noticed that as well...I forgot that Wahab went back there lol. It's essentially an entire new roster it looks like. I don't expect it to happen with Ewing there, but a solid coach could probably get the team to gel and be pretty good

Can anyone confirm whether it is true that when the Jaguars’ school was founded that one of the founders asked the others, “What should we call the school? We need someone to give us a little direction here.”

Why did X shoot 27 threes against a team with a significant height disadvantage? Some of them were wide open, but not all of them. This seemed like a game where Nunge and Free should have combined for like 40-45 points.

Also, it's disappointing to see Miles hasn't really developed much. Watching him launch gimme layups off the backboard is unfortunate.

Not sure why, but I find this hilarious from coach Woods!

I was just going to post that. How the hell do they let him get away with that? He’s taking away the baseline.

I thought Tandy played well.

2 blocked shots, 2 steals, and a couple of assists to Kraft in his limited time. He was making the extra pass! I also never saw him cough it up on the press like Claude did.

OMG - I remember wondering why the best highlight of the 1st half wasn't even shown at halftime on the jumbotron. Didn't realize at the time he also broke Sean Woods' ankles on the sideline.
