I highly recommend that anyone who missed the show, to go back and hear it.
It is a tutorial on what a Great Coach is all about. The way he talks about the players, what they coach them to do, how they counsel them, what makes "playing the right way" means. It is so refreshing vs the analytic/statistic recap approach. Specifically, his commentary on KyKy, Jerome and Free was so insightful. Especially his relating on how they've gotten through to Jerome Hunter was just so eye-opening.
I'm not gonna miss a show. And if you do, you can go back to the 55krc tab in the IHeart radio app to find it.
Outstanding.

Whoever is going to the Sean Miller Show tonight, please relay the following two messages from Lady X:

1) Make the Running Man uniform color scheme permanent so she can load up on Xavier gear.

2) Grow your hair longer. You have a nice head of hair, but it needs to be longer to fit your face. She knows these things.

What a Sean Miller show last night!!
I mean Joe and Byron could barely get a question in. Sean just opened up and laid it all out. No throwing anybody under the bus, but he’s 100% right. They were not ready to play. Better to learn that now vs in March. And he doesn’t just talk about the problems, he actually details out what they have done in practice as solutions.. for example a new, tougher free throw regimen that the players must complete either before or after practice daily, with manager/asst. Coach documentation.
His main focus was that “the lights were too bright Friday and the team wasn’t ready for the other team’s best shot, but they know now they had better prepare for it.” The lack of NCAA intense one & done, game to game experience really hurts this team sometimes. Better to learn lessons like Friday night now than in March

...man!

Remember when after a tough loss the Former Guy would delegate the show to an Assistant because he was “Out Recruiting”????

I think Miller is welll aware that the team not being mentally ready to play falls squarely on his shoulders, and I appreciate that he's taking steps to ensure that does not happen again.

I had the same thought listening last night. What a great coach and incredibly honest communicator. He saw what most of us saw.....a team not ready to compete. He acknowledged it right off the bat. Didn't sugar coat it. No "well it just wasn't our night" crap. Most importantly, he was completely candid without, as MOR said, singling out individual players in a negative manner. Miller mentioned players by name, but it wasn't in blame. Instead, he detailed specifically how we need to play next time.

I thought the most important message he had, which translates outside of the Butler game, was to embrace situations like Friday night. We went into a lion's den facing a team that as another poster said, was playing in their Super Bowl and we played like we wanted to just survive and go home. What we needed to do was embrace the challenge. That is such good advice in life. We've all faced situations that we didn't wish to be in, and we just wanted to move through the challenge. That attitude almost guarantees a substandard result when the way to handle those situations is to face and attack them----to actually enjoy them. Such great fundamental advice for this team. I was so impressed with the way Miller had thought about the game, the lessons learned and the solutions for next time. Xavier is so fortunate to have this guy as our coach.

Free two weeks into recovery. Same 4 week timetable.
Boum ankle sprain. They held him out of practice and are highly hopeful of him playing Wednesday night.

If Boum can't go, I hope KyKy has his shooting touch locked and loaded.
