An organization that knows what they’re doing, unlike the Reds. One question though- why doesn’t anyone go to the games? I think your attendance is worse than the Reds.

I bet the Redlegs aren't too far behind in 1, 2 and 4....

...not even close in 3, 5 and 6.

Honestly the weather up here this year has been miserable. I have a partial season ticket plan and the rain and cold (Thanks Global Warming!!) have been incessant. Whenever the team got on a roll and came home there was a crappy forecast. I think that they had to play 13 doubleheaders up here because of rainouts, and the bad forecasts kept people at home to watch on tv. The TV ratings are off the hook.
Plus, because the team last offseason didn’t make any big moves (because the F.O. Knew they had young studs coming up,) the season as advance buzz and ticket sales were low.
I will say that the Dolan’s ownership has never been able to market properly. Former owner Jacobs was a merchandiser and, besides having great teams, knew how to keep the fan base jazzed. Dolan’s not so much. I have lots of examples like not putting the whole season’s worth of tickets on sale by Thanksgiving for Christmas “stocking stuffers”.
The Guards average 17,000/game this year- about the same as the Reds & Baltimore. But we have 3 major teams here in MLB, NFL and NBA that split the pot. No excuse, just fact.
The playoff games are sold out already tho.

The Rockies avg 33k and will finish 30 games under .500. But the owner knows he has a cash pot and will never sell. Just keep trading stars like LeMahieu, Arenado, Story and Ottovino and signing busts like Bryant. What a douchebag. Sad for the great baseball fans here. Honestly, ANYBODY with common sense could do better.

Cleveland ended up being the only home team to win Game 1 yesterday - St. Louis fell apart like a house of cards in the 9th inning and Toronto/New York were no-shows yesterday.

Youngest and one of the lowest payrolls in MLB. It’s been a heck of a season for that young squad.

They don’t know what they don’t know.

Reds set a team record for rookies making their debut this season with over 60. I’m a little jealous of the Guardians thus season.

The Guardians-Rays game will now be the longest a game has been scoreless in the postseason with 13 scoreless innings so far. Previous record was the Braves-Reds in 2020 (first 12 innings were scoreless; Braves won in the 13th).

“Some Guy”. Paul sounds pissed.

“Some Guy” is Guardians 24 year old future Superstar outfielder Oscar “SpongeBob” Gonzelez, who the Guards signed at 16 years old.
You cannot replace Old, Wise Baseball Scout Eyes.

Good that in 2019, we had Gerardo Parra/Baby Shark and now Gonzalez/SpongeBob.

Does this mean that next year someone will have Paw Patrol as their walk-up song?

i don't follow the Guardians. I did see a clip on ESPN's web page while checking football scores.
And it was some guy hitting a homer in the 15th.

What's to be pissed about? If the Reds were in it, different story. Take a breath; this isn't the political thread.

As in the political thread. If you can’t contribute anything substantial, don’t bother posting anything at all.
“Some Guy” tells people nothing. The least u could do is learn the guys name.
But just like on the political thread, research isn’t important to you.
Take a loooooong break.

Is this the de facto playoffs thread now? I think the Padres and Mariners are the two teams I can most easily stomach winning the WS. Maybe the Phillies (they took out the Cards; always appreciate that). That's pretty much the list.

Houston and LA have beaten the Mariners and Padres like a drum in recent years, so naturally both of them will find a way to get into their respective LCS series.

But hey, if the Astros and Guardians meet each other, I'll see if I can dig my old Astros Little League cap out of storage.

Cleveland quickly gets a run in the bottom of the 1st tonight, whereas Houston and Seattle are still scoreless despite a 3-hour head start on tonight's game.

Houston is now the Evil Empire. Dodgers are gone, Braves are gone and the Yankees are on the doorstep of joining them.

To put the wildness of last night in perspective, NY/CLE was in the 8th inning when Houston finally scored in the 18th inning in their game against Seattle. TNT was only supposed to show the beginning of that game but ended up showing the entire game concurrently with TBS because of the length of the Astros/Mariners game.

Oh, and how would you like to be Fernando Tatis Jr. right about now? The Padres' megastar was suspended midseason and they just might win it all without him in the fold.

Going into today, Cleveland had lost seven straight winner-take-all games in the postseason and are 4-18 overall in potential series-clinching games since beating the Yankees in the 1997 ALDS.

The Minnesota Twins did the unthinkable this weekend: they went to Kansas City and got swept by the abysmal Royals. The Indian Guardians, who are the very definition of mediocrity at 53-53, are now just a half game out of first place with 56 games to play.

And we just traded our best healthy pitcher, Aaron Civale. But we'll STILL win the Central over the poverty Twins.
This team is .500 with none, that equals zero, of the Opening Day starting rotation active. But this org can develop pitching and 3 young studs are taking the mantle. The hitting has finally emerged. Gonna be a fun last two months.

Apparently losing 20-9 was not the worst thing to happen to an Ohio team tonight.

Thank you Astros!
