Won last night to move to 6-0-2, and #19.

Weren’t they picked to finish LAST in the BE by the coaches? I thought I read that before the season started. I saw them play NKU and they are very talented.

After the win yesterday the team is now 7-0-3. Hell of a season so far!

The women are equally impressive at 9-2-1 with a match today vs hall.

Maybe both of these teams will be in the tourney.

Women are now 10-2-1 with a 2-0 victory over Seton Hall

Men now ranked 12th in the poll. Not bad for a team picked to be last in the big east!

I guess that’s why they play the games…sorry matches.

Only team they've "lost" to is Western Michigan (2-1 in an exhibition), and the Broncos are 8-1 with wins over the three Big Ten teams (and also receiving votes in the poll).

There's a lot of sister kissing that goes on in this version of football.

Another win for the men today at nova. 8-0-4… what a helluva season for both of our soccer clubs.

Lost ground for some reason and now 13. Only BE squad in top 25. Let that sink in after, well you know.

Both still unbeaten in conference play.

And picked last in the BE coaches preseason poll.

The women gave up a goal?!? Ridiculous. That's 2 in 9 Big East games now. At least it was a PK and not a "real" goal.

Men gonna be waiting for an NCAA bid after losing at home to Creighton in the Big East tournament. Might be in peril after a bad finish to the season.

Selections to the NCAA Tournament will be announced tomorrow for men's soccer - Xavier's road got narrower thanks to Creighton (the 6 seed in the BE Tournament) getting the auto bid today.

Western Michigan upset #12 Akron in the MAC title game. Not sure WMU was getting in, so that's probably another bid steal.

Also, the MAC just announced that they're not sponsoring soccer anymore after this year, and the Big East has been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Akron. Would be huge for Big East soccer and Xavier. Akron is a powerhouse.

Unfortunately they did not get in.

bummer...they were probably right on that cutline..unfortunate but still they had a very good year considering they were expected to finish last. Certainly something to build on for next year!

Number 11 in the Big East but number 9 in the country.

At that point they were undefeated. Seems strange they end up with only 2 losses, after being ranked 9th, and not make the tourney.

Yeah cut line for sure. Having Seton Hall (who made the tourney) passing them late in BE standings and Creighton winning BE tourney probably kept them out.

I guess the Big East isn't very strong. For whatever it's worth (which seems like not much given how few games are played in a soccer season), Xavier was #44 in the RPI.

Also, is college soccer in the space where college baseball was 25 years ago? Where a lot of the "big schools" didn't take it seriously and a lot of smaller schools like Rice, Fullerton, Pepperdine, Wichita State, etc. were powerhouses? Because I know Akron is a soccer powerhouse, and I'm looking at the top of the soccer RPI rankings and seeing names like Lipscomb, FIU, Cornell, UNC Greensboro, Penn, SMU, Vermont, Tulsa, St. Louis and New Hampshire (all joining Arkon in the top 20).

St Louis has been really good for a long time

And I know they lost to Creighton, a hot team that beat Georgetown, but you can’t lose that game.

So has Akron. And so had Fullerton and Wichita State and Pepperdine in baseball before the "big boys" decided they were going to start caring about baseball, too.

Too many ties, not enough wins. It was a tough ending to the year but a lot better than where they were originally picked.

Big time shame they did not get in, but, as others have alluded to, it seemed like everything that could go wrong at the end did. Future is bright. I believe success breeds success, so hoping that the success of both soccer programs will help each other in attracting talent and allow X to grow stronger in college soccer.

Damn, who would have ever expected ME of all people to be first to soccer news? Akron was officially announced as a member of the Big East for soccer today.

Wonder what other MAC programs would be dropping soccer - I think Kentucky was also in the MAC as an affiliate men's soccer member at some point.

No one is dropping soccer. WM, BG and NIU are going to the Missouri Valley. Chicago State is heading back to the wasteland from which they came (presumably independence).

Creighton is in the Final Four. Pretty solid.
