In a word WET!!
Only got 9 holes in cause of storms. We were -5 thru 8 after I dunked a 100 yd wedge in the jar on #1 Kendale at Kenwood. Back to back Eagles and putting for birdie on 9 before washout
Only notable was Sean Miller’s thankful and inspirational speech. He is ecstatic to be back & will be happier when Amy can join him from Arizona. He’s been living in a Residence Inn for 73 days while their new house gets finished. One of his sons is on the coaching staff.
Was very complimentary of Steele’s recruiting, but not much else. Sean said he really likes the returnees and said that Boum has been on his radar since Arizona played UTEP a couple of years ago. Said he can really get to the line and convert. Loves the two new recruits and said that Kam Craft is, and will be, the best shooter Xavier has ever had. He gave a nod to Brad Redford, with the proviso that Kam is “5 inches taller” with a laugh.
The only other player he mentioned was Colby Jones, giving the thought that this guy could blow up nationally this year. With a notation of Jay Wright’s retirement, Sean didn’t shy away from goals of Winning the Big East every year, Winning the Big East Tournament every year, making the Dance every year and he stated he WILL get to that Final 4 at Xavier. He joked around about Dante Jackson and I asked him a question on his impressions of the NIL and how that may affect Xavier. His answer was that he wasn’t worried about it. He said the ratio is 90/10 of recruits who don’t really care about a school’s NIL program inducements to those who do. The NiL kids aren’t Xavier type kids anyway so it’s not a factor to him. They wlll step up International recruiting however.
Had lunch with President Hanycz at our table. Very impressed! Handled some pointed questions with solid answers. Xavier won’t go woke and, while it may lose the “Jesuit” identity with new leadership, it will not lose it’s “Catholic” identity. That was great to hear.
A great day with great friends.
There’s your recap.

Thanks. Lots of good news.
(although I'm not sure of coaches saying "this guy will be the best shooter we've ever had" :))

i just moved to Kenwood last Wednesday from Conn to join my daughters and husband in Cincinnati and played in All for One at last second even though i am a public course player. Had a great time and met some nice people and talked hoop a bit. Went to Bob Staak's talk last week 2 to a lot of Xavier hoop this fiirst week whiile unpacking. After 66 yrs in Connecticut i needed a change but played in morning session. Even signed up to be a substitute teacher today as ii have done it the past 3 years in Bridgeport Ct which is a tough nut. And i was gifted a sesaon tiicket sectiion 200 (now must buy 2nd) as a going away present from my friends in Conn. Wish i stayed around for Miiller(although i sat 10 ft from him in NIT) and the talk sounded inspirational

it has been great to be here but moving 700 miles is not for the faint of heart. After a week still lots of boxes. Very helpful here to set up health insureance, register car, driver license, etc. Much easier that in Conn. Need to get to Reds and FC Cincinnati

.

Is this referring to David Miller? Didn't think he was Sean's son, just thought they shared the same last name.

From the goxavier.com bio:

Miller’s father, Dave, is a former assistant coach of the New Orleans Hornets. He spent over 20 years in college as well at a number of spots, including USC, Arizona State and Texas.

David Miller is Assistant Coach. Sean’s son Cameron is Video Coordinator. He introduced them both at the event.

Whopper was phenomenal with his short game and made all our crucial putts. Proud to be one the team dubbed "most honest."
