It's been confirmed Scruggs tore his ACL. Just awful for him. Guy battled for us for five years and it's a crushing way for his career to end.

I really wonder if other seniors will start to skip things like the NIT like college football players skipping bowl games. Truly sucks for him, and will affect his chance to play overseas next year or even have the opportunity for NBA workouts/summer league (which I do think helped some of our guys get overseas work).

Just an enormous bummer.

Terrible news. The guy gave it all to this program. Hope he gets a nice ovation.

That’s awful especially when it happens in a completely meaningless game. Feel terrible for the guy… praying for a speedy and full recovery so he can make some dollars playing overseas

UGH. Terrible news. I feel for a guy who gave us so much for so long. I know this doesn’t help him in this moment, but it’s not the career threatening injury it used to be. Get well quickly!

Probably not, but is the same knee he injured in HS? Completely sucks for a guy who just wanted to win and make NCAAT for his team.

The Xavier players are wearing #1 jerseys in the layup line.

Devastating news. Have a fast recovery, Paul.

That’s a very nice tribute. Happy to hear that, in the face of such lousy news. I wonder who thought of that?

Soooo sorry for Paul.

He gave 5 years of his life and his heart and soul to Xavier. It is horrible for his career here to end like this. It reminds me of when Brian Thornton went down.
Hope the team can rally around him and bring home the wins.

MOR that is right on the button. Not always our best or smartest player but one can never question his heart and desire. Thank you Paul, for all that you’ve done over your Xavier career. Best of luck in your future endeavors and get well soon!

I totally forgot tonight was the Brian Thornton reunion.

And yes, it was a great gesture seeing all 7 unis worn by Scruggs plus the T-shirts his family wore for Senior Day.
