That's depressing.
A Friday night UConn/Villanova and Anyone vs. Anyone doubleheader at MSG would be a wild scene.

Let me explain how this is going to work:
Xavier handles Butler with just a little trouble, keeping on the good side of the bubble.
In a game uglier than the pillow next to Snipe the morning after, Xavier knocks off top seed Providence to secure its bid.
Sorry Musketeer fans, but Xavier rarely does more in a conference tournament than it needs to and falls to Marquette in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, full strength St. John's outruns short-bench Villanova and outlasts resurgent Seton Hall in the New York metro showdown.
In the final, St. John's gets the last shot over Marquette on their MSG home floor in a classic.
Come late Saturday, Xavier is securely dancing and the Big East gets eight teams into the NCAA Tournament.

Even better, SJU wins the championship BUT that then takes away X's at-large bid.

I could have lived a while without that image being introduced to my psyche.

Karma.
Our BET tickets are in the same section-113-that they were when Tre Bluiett hit the go ahead jumper vs , hmmmm, Butler, on hmmmm 3/9/2017.
Coincidence? I think not.

Very possibly.
I do think we have favorable first and second round match ups. X matches up better against Butler than DePaul or St. John’s. In the second round (should X get past Butler), they match up better against Providence than Nova or UConn. So a good opportunity for a little run is in place. After that second game, all the teams are a little tired, so it might also play to X’s advantage (having a deeper bench then most).
As many issues as we’ve seen with Steele, he could quiet a lot of us by going on a run in the BE Tournament followed by a run in the NCAA Tournament.
We will find out soon if Steele is capable of meeting the expectations of Xavier’s Men’s Head Basketball Coach: Getting the team in the dance. Winning games once you are in the NCAA.

Where do you get X having a deeper bench than most? Did you not watch the games this year.? I want X to win but it's going to take the guys that played last Saturday. Minus the walk ons.

Steele is too stupid to use his bench.

It happens every year. It's the morning of the Big East tourney and I wish I was in NYC. I haven't been since 2018. It's been too long.

I went once. 2015. The one year X made it to the BE Final. If anyone feels the need to fund another trip for me in the future, I will definitely listen... LOL

Relax, Xavier fans! Today either begins a Xavier March run or the final straw ends the Coach Hoodie era. Enjoy that game!

Providence squeaks by Butler. Friars are just ripe to be upset. That bid-sealing win was just waiting for Xavier. This somehow continues to get worse.

It’s rather amazing how every team looks like total crap when they are not hitting from the outside. Eight minutes left in the first half and Saint Johns is beating Villanova 18 to 10. Villanova looks like crap.

FT’s are a lot like serving in tennis or putting in golf. It’s a mindset. Confidence is everything, and it is created by the leader in basketball.

Surprised that the tournament is all chalk. It will be interesting to see if the champion moves up a seed line.

Friars ridiculous string of luck had to run out sometime, and Creighton had to go off. Perfect storm.

I know people don’t like Hurley, but I would love that guy as my coach. Won every single place he’s been in, and now building uconn back to elite status. He’s a lunatic, but the guy can coach.

Know what you mean, but we do not have the passion, energy and focus. We cannot play with the same level of intensity that these guys play at for 40 minutes. It’s that culture thing again. Or the loss of it, in our case.

If Creighton warms up from outside in the second half, then watch out. 0–13 in the first half from behind the arc.

It’s an amazing time Brothers. Even more so when You win a game or two!!
Losing at 4:30 on Wednesday is like you weren’t even there. It was abjectly embarrassing.
This years Tournament was played in front of 97.3% capacity at the Garden. The only session that wasn’t sold out at 19,812 was Wednesday at 17,163.
Some requiem.

So Creighton storms to the Big East championship game and has three players on the Big East All-Freshman Team? I am worried about falling behind the East coast teams, but did not see the Blue Jays coming from the other direction out of the plains to lap Xavier.

Xavier is recruiting like a top 3 BE team but coaching like a 8th place BE team. Lack of roster management
X did beat Bluejays twice so that is one small quality.
I cannot believe we have to swallow this dump for another year. Goodness!

Travis can recruit, Sean can coach. Let it be that!
(I also buy an occasional lottery ticket, so I don’t always go with the odds.)

Creighton looked like it was in complete rebuild mode at the beginning of the season. Thought they wouldn’t even be that competitive. X looked like they were a force on their way to 25 wins and a top 5 seed in the Tournament. Not to worry. I’m pretty sure Steele is about to remind us all, “there are a lot of games left to be played.”

Contrast in coaching right there. No more perfect example.
And people were trying to “cancel” McDermott last year for using the word “plantation”. How wokely stooopid!
