Very very unlikely. Think it was down to one Claude, Mintz and some other up and comer (forget his name)committing

Makes it a little sweeter that he had an offer from Louisville, and chose Xavier.

Will be interesting to see whether Claude or Mintz has the better college career down the road. Nice pickup from Steele and co. Good way to finish off the class. Now hopefully we can get an athletic post in the transfer portal.

Claude himself said the coaching staff said they would not recruit over him. So that would be a definite no.

On paper it looks to be a pretty good class (3 top 100 guys).

It will probably be updated again in spring but the most current 247 recruiting site has X 2022 class
at #14 right behind Nova at #13 and UNC at #12.

Wow, impressive list.

Indeed! To be fair, I’m not sure if Kansas ever actually offered, but they were in the hunt. Still VERY impressive.

Excellent! This is a big get for X and gives them a very solid guard/wing class, if everyone pans out. Welcome young man!

They did offer for sure unless the kid was lying. Not sure how hard they pushed.

Did not realize that Desmond Claude and Putnam Academy was named National Prep Champions. Undefeated at 38-0. Claude named MVP.

Good for them and him (and us).

It says that their semi-final win was against Scotland Campus. Shouldn't that make the INTERNATIONAL Champions?

Well, I am totally not clear on what kind of National Championship it is and who exactly gave out the award. Doesn't different entities proclaim prep National Champions?

Putnam Science Academy does have a solid tradition, and 38-0 is 38-0. However, the only 2021-22 schedule I could find did not include the usual Prep School powerhouses such as Montverde, IMG, La Lumiere etc.

In fact, they're not in the USA Today prep poll.

Regardless, Claude is a very impressive recruit.

I guess the winner here is considered the National Champions.

Well, it took some digging and then time to decipher the info......but-

https://usatodayhss.com/2022/final-usa-today-sports-super-25-high-school-basketball-rankings-2022

It looks like Claude and Putnam Academy have a legit claim as National Champions. Their tournament had a field of 16 teams, and there were some big time programs competing. Putnam took care of Sunrise Christian Academy easily, knocking them out of a chance at the Championship. Sunrise spent a long stretch at the top of the USA Today Super 25. They feature TWO 5 Star 2022's and several more 4 Stars. I believe Putnam was their 1st loss of the season. They got upset for a 2nd time at the Geico event.

Anyway, it appears Putnam managed to avoid most of the stiffest competition because Montverde, Link, Hargrave were in the field and they didn't face them.

Claude was the named the tourney MVP, so that should mean he put up some winning numbers vs the SunriseAcademy studs. We may snagged a good one folks!
