I’m having a tough time getting a handle on how much eligibility each player has remaining (especially in light of the extra year given to players affected by the COVID year). Here is what I believe…thoughts?
Paul Scruggs- Done after this year
Ben Stanley- Done after this year
Nate Johnson- Done after this year
Adam Kunkel- Done after this year
Dwon Odom- 4 including this year
Deionte Miles- 4 including this year
Colby Jones- 4 including this year
Jerome Hunter- 3 including this year
Zach Fremantle- 3 including this year
Kyky Tandy- 3 including this year
Jack Nunge- 2 including this year
Cesare Edwards- 4 including this year
Elijah Tucker- 4 after this year (due to redshirt)

Kunkel might have one more year

Yes Kunkel has another year after this one and I think Stanley does as well if he wants it due to his injury last year.

Scruggs and Johnson are the only ones without any eligibility left after this year. Think of it like last year never even happened. It didn’t count for anyone.

with scruggs and nate leaving (after a final 4?) and Ward and Kraft coming in we are going to get very familiar with these players almost like a fan of the 90s Pacers or Jazz would. It is kind of unprecedented but Covid did it (Covid also hurt Tandy sadly(happily for the results of team) as Johnson/scruggs gone would have given him more opportunitiy and Kunkel getting eligible immediately squeezed last year. The history of sports is littered with stories like this (situations that help (or hurt) players)

Yes, Scruggs and Johnson are the only ones. Nunge was at Iowa for 3 years. One was a developmental redshirt, another was a medical redshirt and one was Covid.

Not sure I've ever heard of a 4th year freshman! Well, I've met a lot of people who that would apply to academically, but I've not seen it for athletic eligibility.

You've been reading the sUCks' chatboard again, haven't you. It takes them 4 years to figure out XU is not in Norwood.

Nunge is a sophomore eligibility wise and will have 2 more years after this year.

Here’s a chart that shows it all

I will be 70 years old when Ward and Kraft graduate. Nunge is a game changing center like Kanter and Hankins were except we have him for 2 more years? Incredible. Both Kanter and Hankins did not shine until the calendar turned. We had Carter for 2 years and I liked him with Tyrique and Nag and Zach as a floater but to count on him 30 minutes a game exposed him as a non game changer and I felt a little bad as I know what it is like to hit a wall at a certain level

And he graduated before he left Iowa in three years. Crazy.

That has been a good coping technique.

That was my understanding, and after last night I can’t get enough of watching him play for X!

When you look at the fact that Xavier basically loses Scruggs and Johnson only from this years roster, and look at what all they have coming back, only having 2 guard/wing type players coming in as freshman doesn’t worry me at all. With those 2 highly rated freshman and Tucker joining the eligible roster, along with the players coming back with multiple years of eligibility, Xavier is set up for long term success.

That's a graduate level class and you get 3 credits.

Thinking of Nunge with 2 more years of eligibility makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Jack will be 23 years old in a few months (and possibly married soon) and I’m fearful that we’ll never benefit from the additional two years of eligibility.

That's what I was thinking. Hoping he'll stick around for at least 1 more season though.

Think he'll have a couple of phd's by then. Maybe we can get him a NIL at a Big Man's store.
