Had lunch with a local friend today with a XU freshman daughter. said students earned points by attending other xu sporting events to earn tickets to the UC game. Four of her xu student friends are coming back to town for the game and staying with them.
I think we will have good student representation at the game.

Most of us who were at the Snuggie game either left our Snuggies in some old lady's room (Kahn's Krazy), puked all over it (Fred Garvin), or somehow discarded the soiled remnants of said snuggie. We lost that game to Duquesne and vowed to never wear them to a game again. I doubt there are any remaining from that foggy, debauchery filled day.

Well done and congrats. Still kicking myself for not joining that trip. It was legendary. If only we still had that level of spirit and intensity, we could win the whole bleeping thing! :)

Frankly, I miss the Popes. I also miss the guys who dressed up relative to a player each year (e.g. Chalmers' choo-choo's because Chalmers first name was Lionel). But the student section has never been better, at least over the 35+ years that I have been going to X games.

My folks mentioned the same about the current SS. However, if the students can't be there for the Shootout it falls on the alumni to do a really futile, stupid gesture on their behalf.

Also whatever happened to the guy who used to do the sprinkler every game for the dance cam? I guess maybe still there they just dont do dance cam anymore?

Maybe borrow the Green Bay Packers cheesehead thing for Colby Jones... yeah I know it's a dumb idea and played out... just can't think of anything else that may fit a current player. Agreed about the student section this year... big time two thumbs up on them. Really bringing it.

Yeah they did the "Lyon's Den" and had on safari hats i think haha. That is the last one i remember seeing, may have ended there.

Never underestimate the XU students. Especially this year. They will be there even it it means traveling in for the weekend.

The snuggie trip, while legendary, was also not our finest moment. Vegas had us winning that game easily, we lost,

Although filling what an entire section of the stands and Sean looking up in acknowledgment was cool.

But man what an adult spring break trip, “he darn near choked on a Jell-O shot”, it don’t worry somebody saved his beer!

At least as I recall the Pittsburgh chapter of the alumni association put on a great pre game and let us join in (and tarnish) that as well.
