C'mon man! The micro second flash move left and the electric cross over right with AUTHORITY to the iron, works against any defense, if the floor is is man D and stretched with the lane open. Tandy is extremely interesting!

Agree - you're dead on about that first step. No other guard has that explosiveness. He can get that in game situations if he's more involved in the offensive flow and movement and doesn't settle for the first jump shot. That is part on KyKy and part on coaching.

There's no way I write him off - he's a weapon for sure. Very capable back-up who can score and can be a spark off the bench with the right match-ups.

I think this is a good point to remember. We've recruited some damn good basketball players. We need a few of them to make that jump to be real impact players, not only this year, but for the future of Xavier Basketball, and more than just CoJo.

Like Bobbie said, it would be nice - I say critical - that one of the bigs steps up. But I think they need to be more than 'servicable'. Free is not a true big. He's not a 'banger' and a what you would consider a force under the basket. We need one of those in the BEast.

Good to see Hunter back to strong rebounding, defense and doing well from free throw line.
He may not be as good as Johnson from 3 but he is needed in other areas.

He actually can shoot a bit. He shot 34% from the three last year. Now I agree, he has been shooting threes WAY too much, but he's shown in the past he can make them.

He isn't shooting them nearly at the clip that Hunter is........so, Im ok with 1-2 a game from him

That's how I feel about those two, and any other big who 'can shoot the 3' on this team. If you get an open look, I'm fine with anywhere from 1-3 per game depending on how well you shoot them, and if you made your prior attempt. If nothing else it can help keep the defense honest. For some of these guys it can be kind of a lazy way to get shots, versus having to work to get into position or drive the paint.

BTW - I have liked what I have seen from Hunter outside of his tendency to take too many outside shots.

As long as you doesn't shoot 4-5 threes a game, I like the rest of what he can bring to the table...when/if Free comes back healthy, his playing time is going to get greatly reduced anyways.
