I picked us 4th. I would guess our reasonable ceiling is 2nd and our reasonable floor is 7th?

I think some concerns remain and Steele is going to have to effcively manage rotations with a deep bench. I think he has struggled with that in the first 3 years. I think top 4 is what we should be so I just picked 4th. If we finish worse than 5th I think that would be a disappointment. Who knows??

I have high hopes for this season. I keep hoping that Paul Scruggs hasn't already played his last NCAA tourney game. That would be a shame.

Totally agree. I'm just thinking if we arent as good as we hoped and teams 4-7 are bunched together its kind of the bottom of where we could finish. That wouldnt be good enough imo, like I said anything worse than 5th seems like a bad season to me. Overall though, make the tourney and see what happens, and where we finish in the BE isn't as a big of a concern to me.

That’s probably because Steele doesn’t know how to develop players like Zach (sarc font). Yes Steele needs to improve in game time situations…but

Hopefully Colby will show the same improvement this year.

If I am Christopher I grow a pair of balls, sit Steele down, layout all the teams outside of Providence and Villanova (possibly UCONN too), and ask, “How the hell did you f* up this season so badly?” Steele was given a pass during COVID, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Marquette has a first year head coach, Creighton and Seton Hall have depleted rosters, and St. John’s does not have near the “talent” Xavier has. You single-handedly took a projected third place BE finisher and fell to 8th place. Pack your bags and leave Victory Parkway immediately. Xavier basketball represents winners, and you my friend are a loser…plain and simple!!!
