My buddy is telling me he refuses to wear a mask if X requires it and will ask for his refund on his tix. Personally, I will wear 10 masks to watch Xavier, I could care less. My question is, have you heard anything on this? Will they even offer a refund? I do believe Vax cards will need to be shown but I'm just speculating.

From a very good source, it sounds like they (along with many other schools and venues) are going to require masks.

But look at the bright side, if you have a beer in your hand, you don't have to wear one.............no issue for me :yahoo:

Go to the game, take masks off, scream and chant as loud as you want. Just make sure you get the new Merck pill, get a ton.

Our son got married at the Grove Park Inn (Asheville, NC) while the state had a mandate that you had to wear a mask indoors….unless you were eating or drinking. I had food and/or drink in my hand (OK, mostly drink) everywhere I went. I gained a bunch of weight over our extended stay and spent a fortune, but I had one helluva time!

At this point, masks I’d say is guaranteed. The question becomes once second semester starts- will they require the vaccine. (Since I believe all students are required to have it by second semester)

They are, along with all campus employees including faculty, staff, contract workers, etc.

He may retire to that boat he always talks about sooner rather than later.

I honestly don't think these guys care much if they get fired, so they toe the line to see what they can get away with. He
always talked about retiring early and I'm sure he already has enough money for him and his kids to be secure forever.

He was just following XU82’s advice.

Per ticket office...

We have not announced our COVID policy yet. Once we announce that, fans will be able to receive a refund if they don't wish to follow the protocols outlined. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Good for you. Love that place.

Having a cocktail on the porch in the fall with that view is a nice way to relax.

Interesting. I was told by the ticket office today they are not considering a mask requirement at Cintas.

Following current trends, cases will probably be at a low enough point in a month that a mask mandate won't really be necessary. But if they had to set policy today, I suspect they would include a mask mandate.

Couldn't care less if we have to wear a mask, as long as we get full capacity games in Cintas again

It can, of course, change at any moment. That being said, it is my understanding that there will be no capacity limits at Cintas. However, at this moment I would anticipate a mask policy being in place. So I anticipate a very full and loud arena with everyone not actively eating or drinking having a mask on. Like I said, though, that could change at any time.

As a season ticket holder I received an email "From The Desk of Greg Christopher" that says: "... with masks now off, we are excited that Xavier Nation will be able to fill Cintas Center and our other sports venues when we resume to action this fall".
That email was dated 7/12. Granted it appears that we've crested this 4th waive now, but numbers are still MUCH higher than they were when that email came out. There were 224 new/confirmed cases in the state of Ohio on July 12th, the date of that email. Today there were 6300, which is about double the daily # from August, but down from the 7-9k per day in September. Point being 1) things are much different from when that email went out so if they change course it wouldn't be a huge surprise 2) the numbers are getting a bit better, there's been some improvement in some of the hold outs getting the shot, either willingly or because of employer mandates 3) students are required to be vaxed... sure not yet, but I'd bet the vast majority of them are already 4) my guess is that the vast majority of the demographic of the fans going to Xavier games have probably gotten the shot 5) it sounds like the administration wants to get 'back to a normal fan experience'

As a result, I really doubt there is going to be a mask requirement. If there is, fine, I don't care, I'm not 'that person'. I just want to see my Muskies in person and on a regular basis again. Plus there's no way they can effectively enforce a mask requirement once you are in your seat. 10,000+ people... not a chance. Maybe to get in the building, but after that it's gonna be masks off and beers in hand again. WOOOOOOO!!! Let's go X !

I will be surprised if there is not one of the following:

1. A mask requirement
2. A vaccine OR negative test requirement

Mask requirement seems like the easiest option. Seems like the other option would make getting into games a lot longer process. This month started the vaccine requirement at Riverbend I believe. I have not been yet, going to a concert there in a couple weeks. Anyone been with that yet? Does it take a long time to show and get in?

I went to a show at PromoWest that had a vaccine mandate. It went fairly well, just had people prior to security checking your card and ID before they would let you approach the metal detectors. Since you were already in line, it didn't add any time to the line.

In accordance with Xavier University protocols, all fans are required to wear a face mask inside Cintas Center. Cintas Center's clear bag policy (PDF) will also be in effect for Musketeer Madness. That's for MM. so unless something changes in a month I Plan on wearing a mask. It will suck but at least I am there.

I seriously doubt fans will attend a X game, sit in great seats and not cheer and holler. Can you imagine a scenario where 10250 fans sit and use a muffled sound attempting to cheer on the X men vs. OSU or UC?

I went to the Bills home opener with 70,000 other people. The rule was wear a mask at entry and all covered areas like concourses or restrooms. About 5-10% wore masks beyond entry. I’m not arguing either way, just sayin’.

They gave up and the following home game required Vax card and ID, but they just put checkers farther back in the line, so it really didn’t slow it down much at all.

Like a lot of other stuff after the last couple years, we just do our best and be ready to change on the fly.

Honestly I would love and prefer X went with option 2. Good to hear two different people with experiences where that requirement didn't cause major issues with entry.

But I hope they at least go with one of the two options and not neither.

I totally get the mask rule would be terribly hard to enforce.
