Revenge of Justin Cage!
Greg Oden is on Cameo, and I am so tempted to pay the fee to have him record a video where he admits he should have been called for an intentional foul.

My guess is that he would refuse?

The last time X played Ohio State, it ruined my life! I'm convinced that I would be a multi-millionaire with multiple Nobel Prizes and homes all over the world had that game turned out differently!!
In all seriousness, that ranks WAAAY up the list of not just the toughest Xavier losses, but the toughest losses as any sort of a sports fan. Not to relive it, but in my mind, I was almost certain that we had already won. Even when the intentional foul wasn't called I was so excited that it was hard to be mad about the blown no-call (and it was absolutely a blown no-call). We were still up three and going to the line in the final seconds.
Then, we lost.
It was about 14 years ago. I should get over it soon.
In the moment, the Elite Eight loss to Duke was pretty rough as well. It isn't as rough looking back on it, but at the time X was much farther than we had ever been since I had been following the program, and I didn't know if they'd ever be that far again. Of course, they have been, and that makes it not feel so bad anymore.

Huge. Love that it's at Cintas, love that it's finally a fresh new opponent. I hope Steele absolutely manhandles Ohio State, this could be chance for good revenge, and some bigger bragging rights as well, we have the roster to make this a fun one. Absolutely thrilled at the draw.

If Washington and Liddell come back, that’s at least a top ten if not top five team coming into cintas. Place should be rocking!

Prior to the Mack flame outs, the Pitt loss was as hard of a loss as I can remember. Wasn't that Pitt team the top team in the Big East? Feels like X has been so close, right on the edge so many times.

It does, but I think nearly every team feels this way. Unless you win the last game, which only one team does, you'll always feel like you were so close to getting to the next step.
EDIT: As a for instance, I have a good friend that has very close ties to Pitt. To this day, he looks back at that tournament and thinks "Oh man! We were so close!" They lost to Villanova on a last second shot in the very next round after beating us.
So, the cruel irony of college basketball is that you are almost always left feeling that way. I guarantee you Oral Roberts, who made the Sweet Sixteen, is thinking "Oh man! We were so close!" after they lost to Arkansas (I think) by 2.

Escalate something:
NSKEEP: Definitely you're saying, slightly different official's call and that game ends the opposite way.
Mr. FEINSTEIN: No question. And it was the kind of call - nothing against Ohio State - but when they want to show what a flagrant foul looks like to other referees, that's a play they'll show.

Thurs. Nov. 18 OSU likely to to be Top 5.
If only Brown had smaller feet....
The visual of his heel barely touching the line will be burned into my mind for eternity.
If Brown just would have taken a hair of a smaller step back when retrieving that loose ball or if he didn’t take that unnecessary 3 pointer with just under 3 minutes to go and if Raymond was a little better ball handler and not allowed the ball to be stolen a little later.
Kudos though to Dante and Tu who both came through and made their shots at the end.

Not only a resume builder, but would be a big time win for Steele to maybe help get some of the fanbase back on board. Holtmann can coach his ass off in my opinion, so a win over a guy like that and a top 5 program would do well for setting the tone next season.
