In the past, summer leagues could not get current NBA players to play due to risk of injury.
I am surprised so many "professional" basketball players are willing to risk injury. I see they do get paid for what its worth.

They only get paid if their team wins, it is a winner-takes-all tournament. There is zero prize money for second place...or any other teams.

There is a GoFundMe page set up to help offset the cost of the players for travel, lodging, food, etc. The grand prize is $1 million per team to split among the participants.

They do have airplanes now Paul. Dude could be in Munich one morning, and in Columbus the next. I assume he is on the header because he will be playing, and I will be elated to see him play with this group.

Euro players should mostly be available in July unless they are participating in the Olympics or other FIBA games. So I would think Jalen would be available as he should be on a break then. Euroball schedules are messy as the teams partake in multiple leagues.

CJ was added as an emergency off the bench guy. The roster was filled with guys playing year round for professional teams. CJ is not a pro, but played with the team in the scrimmage versus Team #100. The only way he was going to check in the game was for an emergency. Gates was a fairly late scratch due to his agent's advise. Kanter had issues with his visa which I am guessing he didn't know about until late in the process. Sucks because those 2 dudes would have made a ton of difference on this roster.

I think this year opened some eyes for some of the alums. We will likely get a different mix of guys next year, hopefully guys that can give us more depth. James Farr and King Kenny Frease both mentioned they have interest in playing next year.

And it’s not just the JaMarcus Russell types of the world. To be the best of the best and manage to stay there for any extended period of time is incredible. A new wave of young talent comes at them every year.
