Hope Tandy can buy in to improving himself and his game this off season. This new understanding is hopefully going to bear fruit.

Thought we needed a more positive thread for Dekeyvan.

May not seem like a lot of evidence that it will be different, but given his first year and the willingness for him to come back and Travis to accept him - needed to be some level of detente one way or another. Hopefully both.

Perhaps this shocking shake-up both ways is a wake-up call of sorts.

That has to be a net positive. At least that is the way I have decided to spin it.

I’m glad he’s back. Last year did not go the way I expected. I’m sure he would agree.

I figured he’d be gone. And he may have....but offers seemed to be underwhelming.

I actually hope he shows up PISSED OFF about the whole situation. He seems like a guy that is fueled by his own anger. Fine by me.

Hope he takes it out on everyone

I love the positivity! Hoping for all the best for the player, the coach, the team, and the Xavier community. (Yes, even those guys!)

What makes you think this? I mean I'd love it but I don't see that in Kyky at all. He seemed to have confidence issues all year in face of the benching not "I'm pissed and going to go off" attitude.

If Steele has Stanley Burrell's phone number, I'd bring him in for guidance to KyKy.

Maybe CJ Anderson can talk to some X players about toughness.

Tandy is an introvert. He's not into cheerleading and being the first guy off the bench to pat someone on the back. He's here to play. and he's SEETHING on the sideline and you can see it.

He's got a build up of intensity that never got to come out this year. The more it built up, the more focused he got on just coming in and trying to be the microwave scorer. It didnt work, as his leash was short and his attention to defense was lacking.

if he can unleash that intensity on both ends of the court while playing WITHIN the system and WITHOUT worrying about making mistakes, he'll be loose and effective.

Now, with that, I certainly hope STEELE is willing to consider which system he is running, cause guys like KyKy can flourish in one system and flounder in another.

Excellent insight. We can only hope that they are mutually figuring this thing out.

I would have really liked to have been listening in on the conversation between Travis and Kyky. I assume there would have had to be at some point. I also assume a player can't just say, "My bad. I'm out of the portal (didn't like it in there)" and automatically revert back to the original team.

Why not? KyKy says, “ my bad, coach Steele was right. “ won’t surprise me if Steele and Tandy had a long talk before KyKy changed his mind .

Agreed, think it's more of a long talk where they both shed perspective. It may be a sign of Travis and KyKy BOTH maturing which would be very important moving forward.

I read this is KyKy's fourth and final year. Is that true? Doesn't he have the extra Covid year?

He has a minimum of his Covid year left. I believe if he wanted, he could apply for a medical redshirt and get it for a second year.
