Sadly, it looks like that’s about to change.

Further, X has had at least one player on their roster since 1986 who has been to the NCAA tournament (most papers have even experienced their team advance).

If X doesn’t dance this year - which certainly looks to be the case - we will see a roster next year where no player has made it to the NCAA tournament - at least no one who was wearing an X uniform when they made it*


*Kunkel made it to the dance his Freshman year with Belmont and even won a game.

I just find it hard to fathom the excuses being made in perpetuation of mediocrity. I thought, hoped as it happens, that we had gotten to the point where
"We don't rebuild. we reload."

Not only are we not reloading, we are declining.

I hope this doesn't hurt us long term in the recruiting department. Part of the draw to X is high quality winning basketball and it can't help when new recruits find out that zero players on the current team have played in an NCAA tournament. Maybe I'm paranoid.
