How far away is he from contributing something to the team? This is his second year in the program and he has disappeared from a team that needs an athletic big to compete on the glass. Any hope we will see him anytime soon or is it more likely he will transfer?

He's been injured off and on since @ Creighton, hasn't even been dressed for the past few games I don't think.

isn't he also pretty young? I know the thinking was he'd be a project due to age/size

He's 19 as of this past Aug. He was still 17 when he entered the program, so a little young for his age. He redshirted last year and with this year being a free year, I believe he will still be a freshman basketball-wise next year (even though a junior school wise). He was always a longer term play.

20 months ago in Spain he looked like a normal freshman center like the backups on Providence, Depaul etc. It certainly seems like he could have helped at times.. He played a few weeks ago against UConn and had a point and a rebound in a somewhat close game. I do hope he can give us some help next year..heck he had 12 against Div 1 Oakland(obviously not great but #3 in Horizon league). We shall see. I am realistic but like Ramsey something seems a little off

Funny as bad as Oakland was there are 3 in Horizon League and are in the final for an auto bid..Miles has 12 against them. He looked OK in 4 min against monstrous UConn and had a point and a rebound..Looked OK in Spain 20 months ago. Honestly our inside D is such that we dont even foul the drivers as they just seem to score.

Miles looked like the Horizon League player of the year in that game. He was awesome.

He's still the youngest player on the team even though he redshirted last season.

You might be able to do that if he was available. Hasn’t practiced or dressed for awhile now.

Miles had some hip injuries due to practice. He was brought in as a long term project. Even though he redshirted last year, he is still the youngest player on the team.
The fact that Ramsey played in a game this year is awesome. Nothing more should be read into that. It may be the only time he plays in college. Hopefully not.

Miles is slender. I wonder if he can or cannot be a traditional post player.
I think he can block a ton of shots but right now a 220-230 pound front court player can easily box him out. If he can get his legs, torso and and backside a lot more thicker, he will be a lot more valuable.
I bet Cesare Edwards will come to X gunning all different types of offensive shots. He seems like a stud offensively. Better than Josh Duncan. Not as good as Justin Doellman.

Miles and Ramsey need to contribute next year. I know Miles is a project but it's going to be time to do something.

His hip injuries were a couple weeks ago. Can you confirm Miles has not practiced over the past 2-3 weeks?
Steele said the doctor said Miles would be okay after rest. What say you?

Maybe not. For all we know, he may not be good at anything in practice. I bet Scruggs and Wilcher can both box out Miles. He needs another 20 pounds of muscle or girth to play next year.

I think the point is he is not completely useless as indicated by the times he has plated (Miles and Ramsey). Granted, mostly against lesser competition but not LSoP.
Spelling for a few minutes here and there - can't be much worse - might be better that you think - get them some experience as a bonus - I don't know.

Duncan came to X with a better offensive game than Doellman.

Duncan was also built like a Junior when he walked in the door. He preferred to shoot but could most definitely bang.

Was it my imagination or did Miles get in at the end of the game to guard an inbounds pass by Marquette? If that was in fact him did anyone notice how high he jumped to guard the pass? I'm almost 70 and I jump higher than he does. He seems to run well enough but I question his overall athleticism.

Not enough data. He was using both feet...

Duncan and Doellman are decidedly different. Doellman was a dandy from deep. Duncan was decidedly decent but didn’t dominate to the degree I think Doellman did - Duncan did deliver during the season but was a disastrous dud during his biggest games in the dance. Doellman was definitely the more dependable dude. Okay- I’m done adoring Doelman and dissing Duncan.
