View Full Version : Selection Sunday
Get ready for it... I can just hear it now from the talking heads. Cue "obnoxious Dick Vitale voice" How can the committee not take 8-14 UK, 9-12 Duke, and 10-14 IU, and take 14-5 Xavier ? I figure we play 6 more games and, at worst split 3-3. Who gets picked and the logic will be off the charts crazy. And all the Name schools that suck this year will be whining like 9 year old girls.

These schools are somewhat lucky in the fact that its a Covid year...at least for X it doesn't quite feel like a real season. Don't get me wrong, I know it is- and I am really looking forward to the tournament because I think this team can make a run. Feel somewhat bad for Gonzaga because this is an all time team that people won't remember at all.

good gawd sign me up for this bracket. An overrated Houston and an overrated Iowa in the same bracket? Yeah if X somehow got to Baylor, they would get destroyed but man as a 7 seed, thats a dream scenario

I'd have a hard time watching this front court defend Luka Garza.

No kidding. I wouldn't like X chances at all....but of the four sides, it presents itself the easiest path to the sweet 16 that is for sure.

I'd be more concerned if I was Gonzaga or Baylor that COVID would rear its head during the tournament and cost them a national championship. That would truly suck

He's slow and crafty....has some good footwork, can shoot but on the other side, him and the entire Iowa team could barely guard me
Let Garza have his 30, and think X still wins.

After 13 games of watching this front court try and guard, his 30 could legitimately be his 50. But in general I agree Iowa doesn't strike fear.

I had not seen him until last night..hard to see him in NBA almost like a good shooting but less athletic Ethan Happ.

Yep, watched them the other night against MSU, they are vastly overrated.

Outside of Garza there's not much that strikes fear, Wieskamp can get hot and really light it up, Bohannon is alright too, but if those two aren't knocking down shots, Iowa is easily beatable. Let Garza get his, but I'd be okay with the match up because I don't think he could beat us by his own no matter how bad our post defense is tbh.

Xavier would have to employ the famous "hack a shaq" defense that IU used against LSU in the NCAA Tourney. In that case it worked.
