ALL Tourney cames will be played in Ind. Some of the games will be played where the Colts play, some at Purdue, IU, some where the Pacers play and then of course, The Barn at the Ind. state fairgrounds.

The Fairgrounds Coliseum and Hinkle both are tentative sites. They are not one and the same.

Im VERY well aware that Hinkle and The Fairgrounds is NOT the same and Hinkle is NOT one of the locations where games are going to be played. I believe the old arena there at the fairgrounds use to be called the "Barn".

Games will be played on two courts inside Lucas Oil Stadium, as well as Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Mackey Arena in West Lafayette and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. Only one game at a time will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The fairgrounds arena always been referred to as the Coliseum, going back to the 50s, not the Barn. Many of my fellow X alums often refer to Hinkle as a Barn. Probably due to it's design and th ed fact part of it has a dirt floor.
Went to Hinkle last year for the first time and it was....shit. It was literally a barn, gimme Cintas over Hinkle every day of the week.

Hinkle Fieldhouse is a total shit hole. I have seen many games there, and each time, I have come away less impressed.
Just because the place has a lot of history, and they filmed Hoosiers there, does NOT make it a good place to play basketball. I am sure there are many actual barns in the stat of Indiana that would be better suited to host a basketball game of any kind.

In all honesty I have thought about going to an away game at Butler many times. Is the trip at all worth it?

It depends on what kind of experience you like.
I think Hinkle Fieldhouse is awesome. I love that it's an actual old style field house. Places like that, and the Palestra, and Mac Court (before it was torn down), and Williams Arena up in Minnesota, and Alaska Airlines Arena at Washington (which is one of the oldest in the country) are not "nice" in the sense that they are the complete opposite of a plush, luxury box loaded, NBA style arena with hi-def scoreboards and ribbon boards. At Washington they really don't even have seats. I'm just speaking for myself, but I actually have a lot more fun seeing a game at a place like that, especially if it's a big game with a packed and rowdy crowd, than I do going to most other really nice arenas. I really hope those places never go away in the same sense that a lot of baseball diehards don't want to see Wrigley or Fenway go away. Sure, there are much nicer ballparks, but there's something cool about seeing a game at one of those places.

I don't care where they have it as long as they have it.
I would imagine most in the region are perfectly fine with this as it's a simple and relatively quick bus ride. Easy travel for the Muskies.

I'm guessing it wont be on the same days as normal.
Seth Davis suggested the first round might be Sat/Sun and 2nds round Mon/Tues. Others have suggested due to limited facilities the 1st round may take longer than 2 days.

Love Hinkle. People saying Hinkle is a dump don’t
Appreciate the true meaning of what it is. Hinkle is a place to watch basketball in a shitty building. Not many of those around. I love Hinkle.

Here is an early bracket from KATZ. Notice the #3 seed. Think it was a mistake. Of course I’m sure it will
be changed. In case it is, it’s VD. Think he meant to put Houston in that spot. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2021-01-05/2021-ncaa-tournament-bracket-predicted-andy-katz%3famp

We've already dropped to the play-in game? This bracket is dumb.
I mean, we might end up there, but we're not there right now.

Sounds about right. All the metrics have us in play-in game range.

So basically going 8-8 in the league is going to put us squarely on the bubble again - this annual bubble living is getting to me. I don't like it.

You only need four sites to play the entire tournament, so they wouldn't have to alter the days if they did not want to. I am guessing they want some time in between games to sanitize, so they probably won't be playing back-to-back-to-back-to-back at one venue like they normally do. It will probably be more like two games per venue per day. With that, you could do:
PIG & Rd 1 (36 games) - Two games per day at six venues over three days (either Tue/Wed/Thur OR Fri/Sat/Sun) Games at about noon and 7 at one set of venues, and about 2:30 and 9:30 at the other set of venues.
Rd 2 (16 games) - Six games on two days and four on the third. You can split up the venues a bunch of ways (either Fri/Sat/Sun OR Mon/Tue/Wed).
The rest works itself out pretty easily. I'd start on Tuesday- you are adding games on days you were playing anyway and it is easier to maintain the usual schedule in the later rounds.

I read on Twitter that Sean Payton asked if they could do a 14 day quarantine/bubble for 50k fans to be at the Superdome and create a home field advantage. It was shot down, but it raises a fun and interesting idea for fans at the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately it is unlikely to be possible for many reasons but would be cool to implement at X for students. Have everyone quarantine in the dorms and tested for covid twice a week. At the end you have a couple thousand students going crazy at Cintas. I know this won’t happen or can’t happen, but it should happen!

Selection Sunday remains the same date (as of now). It might be hard to start on a Tuesday as usual given how the world is right now. That is what I think Seth Davis thought the days would be pushed back.
