I always dread the week we are first ranked. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I feel like we tend to come out flat in the first game X is ranked. I hope I'm wrong and the team is fired up to play on Wednesday.

I know it doesn't mean a whole lot (Goodman), but when was the last time anyone made a top 25 basketball list that did NOT have at least one of Duke, UNC, Louisville, or UK on it?

None of them are currently in the AP Top 25. Amazing.

One would think X makes a distinct jump in the polls at 11-2. Lots of losses for the back half of the T25, and our thumping of OU starting to pay dividends.

Besides, our 6 point road loss at a highly ranked CU should not hamper us in any way, but getting hammered at home by a struggling Pirates team could come into play ratings wise on Monday.

Xpecting to be in the 26-29 range AP....possibly better in the coaches poll.

Oklahoma makes a huge jump in the AP poll, climbing a staggering 15 spots to #9. Toledo also on a roll getting the 35th most votes, but neither seem to effect much movement for X. Can't believe that SHU loss is weighted so heavy.

I suspect most voters have simply forgotten about Xavier since we've basically stopped playing games. Two wins this week will have us on the radar for sure.

Yeah, but Colgate is 7-1 with wins against Boston University, split with Army, and wins against Holy Cross.. at least when people were sleeping on Xavier we were still punching Huggins' teams in the mouth, and also the A10 > Patriots, just think of the NBA talent in the A10, guys like Marcus Camby, Jameer Nelson, Rasual Butler, Marc Jackson, Aaron McKie, Cuttino Mobley, Lamar Odom, Smush Parker, etc. I get the sentiment, but I'm with Xuperman on this one, there's absolutely zero reason for them to be #15 in the NET, though I don't understand that damn ranking system anyways.
