Tough opening with 2 of the first 3 being Creighton and Nova.
Also will be interesting to see who was positive, as my understanding is they wont be rejoining the team right away as they go through cardiac protocols and whatever else is in place.
You don't want any of the guys to get it obviously but I hope it isn't one of our top contributors.

No makeups yet for the @DePaul and @Providence games.
There are windows the week of 2/8/21 and 2/16/21 for makeups though. Also Saturday 1/23.
Last game at Marquette is 3/6 with the Big East Tournament scheduled to start 3/10 no no room at the end.
The Women go right to UConn this week on 12/19. May as well get the slaughter over early.

There is also only one match up with Seton Hall... so we'll see if any of those 3 get squeezed in anywhere or if things just stay the way they are and at best have 17 games left... which would put X at 24 - 0 and probably a lock for the NCAA tournament ;)

What about the time in-between the Creighton and Villanova game? That is a 10 day stretch there between games. I would prefer they keep it that way going into Nova probably but wonder if they might try and add one there?

With a requirement of only 13 (?) games, I bet they don't re-add them to the schedule.
Especially since the schedule is there, out until March.

My understanding is that they are expected to be re-added to the schedule. This is why the scheduled earlier and as many games as they did in December. I just read the press release from X and is stated that Feb was left purposely light for make up games. Although Feb doesnt look that light to me.
I would count on the games getting played unless more quarantines happen.

Add in Marquette...who just went to Omaha (or "o-MA-ha" for any of you "The League" watchers out there) and came away with a W....and that is an unfriendly opening 3 games.

Yeah Marquette has 2 top 10 wins. Neither of their two losses are bad losses either. Well except for maybe UCLA, anytime the YTG beats you thats a bad loss in my book.

DePaul is shut down again right? I can't believe the BE isn't going to do some bubble or something like that...gotta think losing a bunch of games will affect TV money

I saw that about Depaul....Just hope X doesn't run into the same thing. Saturday night get another covid positive test and out another 10+ days. That would be brutal.

Id be disappointed, but understanding, of a 1-2 record to open. If we go 2-1, Id be very happy. Aint no way we are going 3-0, so not even thinking about it

If we play in the BE like we played against Oklahoma, we should be right there with anybody.

We play like that we will finish 1st.
I think none of us expect us to play like that every game obviously. It is nice however, to know when we are at our best, we can though. We weren't capable of performances like that the last couple years.

THAT was a thing of beauty as opposed to the painful basketball we saw last year. I still watched, but I did NOT look forward to it. It’s not just that we lost too much, that can happen. It was the brand of basketball some guys were stuck on. Travis had few other options, but I think it was killing him too. THIS is different!

For some reason ESPN does not show our upcoming game with Seton Hall on Wednesday. The next game on our schedule with them is Nova?

ugh
It’s never great news to have to keep postponing games and it’s never great news learning someone may have the Corona virus, but Steele and staff could benefit from a little extra time in the gym working on defense, rebounding and shooting.

Other than those minor flaws, things are going great this year.
