Steele was on a Virtual Twitter Interview with a site named Feel For The Game last night. It is primarily a site that is subscribed to by hundreds of High School coaches. There were questions from both the Site's Webmaster and also it was opened up to Coaches to ask him questions.

The first question that the site asked was: "Coach....Have you been able to get anything done with the program....(While stuck at Home)?
Answer: "I have done a lot of reflection on our program from A to Z. We have to continue to get better in a lot of areas. I have watched every one of our games from this past season and studied all the analytical data as well. I have also been using Zoom to recruit every day. I've been recruiting non-stop on Zoom and watching High School film. I have also been studying other basketball programs around the world trying to find ways to get better. And most importantly, I've been making sure our players are staying healthy and safe. I tell our players every day that we have to find a competitive advantage during these crazy times. We have to come out of this stronger."

There were a bunch of "inside ball" questions from the coaches, no real earthquake answers. Just compliments about the staff, and the support system he has at X.

Also, Rick Carter has a podcast called "Define Reality Podcast" and he just had a 52 minute talk with Steele on there. Rick, of course is the guy who blessed us with JP Macura before leaving to go to DePaul. Anyone should go to Spotify, look for that podcast and listen to it.

Edit add: This Carter podcast is awesome with inside Xavier baseball, because Carter can ask Steele questions and get answers that nobody else can...because they worked together and they're close friends. It's a must listen.

His senior year was also my senior year in college and he WAS my favorite player on that team. Sorry T-Bone! Derek did SO much for that team and XU and the basketball program were VERY lucky to have him on campus!!

Derek was/is a very nice guy. He was soft spoken, maybe a little shy when he was at Xavier but he was always gracious and easy to talk to. I always thought Tyrone was a bit of an asshole.

I was thinking today..if Gillespie got called for the fold last year in the Big East (and Naj hit 1 foul shot) and if Baldwin did not hit that shot on senior day(again, Naj victim of illegal pick by Nze) we would have made NCAA both years. That is actually how close we were. Spilled milk I know but there has been a lit to not like about X hoops in 19 and 20 but it was not that bad
