Danny Manning is out at Wake. Will Steele be following in the steps of Bob Staak and Skip to go to Wake OR will Pat Kelsey get it?

No on Steele
Pat Kelsey is a good possibility.

Can’t see any scenario where Steele goes to Wake.
Here is the silver lining of having narrowly dodged the last few Elite Eights or dare I say, Final Fours.
All part of the bigger plan.....

This is a joke. I mean, you can not be serious with this question. Possibly just trying to stir up conversation on the board?
Appreciate the effort, bit most people here know, it would take a hell of a lot to get Steele to leave.

The question is: was basket being sarcastic once or twice ? Per above Dino did fine there --so would Wake want Dino to return or Kelsey ? IMO Dino is much better option.

Didn't he already have a go as WF HC? Didn't go well as I recall.
edit: I realize that this is a rather tongue-in-cheek thread - but what else we got to talk about sportswise - now that the excitement that was the NFL draft is over?

No Steele in case you don't want to click the link. Kelsey is on the list.

I'm not sure that Steele has really done enough at this point to point him in contention for any other decent HC jobs. Not saying he won't, just hasn't yet.

seems like they should at least entertain the idea of Beilin or Matta if they are wanting to coach college again...

Dino Gaudio deserves his job, which was stupidly taken from him, back.

With the buy-out they are apparently paying (15mil), can they afford either of those candidates without a paycut?
I think Wake is in the same boat as Vandy and Northwestern. They are just happy to say they are in a big time conference. Just striving to not be embarrassing. Hence, no run at Belein or Matta.

XU basketball "loosing" another coach?
Difference between "Lose" and "Loose":
Lose is a verb that means “to fail to win, to misplace, or to free oneself from something or someone.”
But “loose” can also be a verb: “Harry loosed the horses so they could run loose around the grounds.” “Loosen” is more common with clothing, ligatures, etc.: “Harry loosened his belt after his heavy dinner.” However, the verb to use with weight, money, etc., is lose [luz]
Loose is an adjective that means “not tight.”

Maybe so, but they had some very good teams under both Prosser and the guy before him.
Dino's teams, which to a large extent he inherited from Prosser, were also good.
Decourcy lists Belein as the leading candidate.

Both Coaches make a ton of sense. I just have a hard time believing they'll pay either one of those guys AND that buyout.
