No. 7: Xavier v. Butler (March 7, 2020).

As a SLU alum #8 hurts.

"The physical Billikens built a 55-42 advantage with just 7:40 to play in regulation before UD came storming back. Dayton’s efforts were aided significantly by a woeful 17-of-37 free-throw shooting performance by Saint Louis, which would ultimately finish last in the country in team free-throw percentage."

I'm telling you guys you think X was bad at FT's? Watching a close SLU game was painful, almost every single player sucked at the line.

Weird we lost to Dayton in the first round of the BE tournament. Guess I’ve been so consumed by this virus and forgot the BE went to 12 teams.

Ha I missed that. Good catch.

After watching the video again, it sure looks like Naji was pushed by the Butler big right before Baldwin took the shot. Had Naji allowed himself to fall over, it’s very likely a foul would have been called and X wins. I guess it really doesn’t matter at this point, though.

funny thing about that game is that Carter had 17, Tandy(10), Zach(6) Tyrique(14,13) all good games, Naji 23. Only Thompson (12) and Baldwin in double figures but of course he had 26. Only 12 TO. However 15-25 FT was killer. May have been most balanced game of the year. Turned out to mean nothing

Have you thought about emailing the SLU coach with some videos of some good free throw drills? That's what Xeus did with Travis, and I think it helped.

Good call. The coach is Travis Ford from UK playing days and coached at UMASS then OK State. I think he could use some help and advice from someone with an eye for the game like mine.

Gotta bend the knees, and the follow through is important!
