Does VD hang a banner that says NC now?

As of now, they can't even claim they have been a 1 seed more recent than X

I'm so torn.
I want to laugh at UD right now.
But man... just IMAGINE if this happened to us during our #1 seed year...
Seriously, those fools must be in shambles.
Ok, I'll laugh... because it's literally hilarious...
This will haunt them for the rest of their lives!

Oh I love it!!!! I would be pissed if I were them but this makes me so happy. That school will never see anything like this again. Mid majors sometimes have a once in a lifetime season. St Joes did, SDSU this year, UMASS and now VD. They will be back to mediocrity next year and I love it. And once again VD still hasn’t past us as a program! I’m a dick I know

Guess we can delete a few threads now. All my witted and creative posts wasted! Yes sarcasm.

Look on the bright side, how would you feel if we were a lock for a #1 seed? That would sting for a long, long time......
I really do feel for a lot of players, coaches, students and fans. Some have waited years. All have been pointing toward this since October. Unlike CFB, where only about 10 schools have a snowball's chance in Hell of making the playoffs, MBB has hundreds of teams that can make "the Dance". Plus there isn't squat on tv, and in the North it's still too cold to do stuff outside. I guess day drinking will become a thing.

Not wasted at all! I have them printed and ready for framing! They shall hang on my walls until we win a NC!

It’s going to be a permanent disappointment for the seniors on all of the teams that would have been playing. On the other hand, I’m sure that the X seniors are probably relieved.

The last time we were a #1 seed we lost in RD 2. That was another night of extreme anger. I call it the Mack special.

I wonder if Obi really cares that much. He is about to go make millions. This allows him to get started doing that.

I’m also conflicted about this. For the delusional UD fans, I’m less concerned about them as they’ll always be delusional. For the players on the team, kids in their late teens and early 20s, this really sucks. They’re missing out on something they might never again have a chance to experience. I can’t take joy in that.

I think the fans are more upset. Players move on, fans don’t. I could be wrong since I never played college hoops let a like highschool hoops but I think I would get over this pretty quick as a player. Prob wrong

There’s not a single former college athlete that wouldn’t give almost anything for the chance to play one more game, run one more race, do one more match. The players will move on because life demands it, but it’s a hole in their life that will never be filled. It’s said that time heals all wounds, but this wound will be revisited every March from here on out.

For those whose careers are over sure. But for Obi who is going to make millions I think he will be over it as soon as he sees his new bank account. For the rest of their team they might be a little more sad because they have to go get real jobs.

Why would anyone think this is "hilarious"? There is no joy in this. I can't stand UD but feel bad for the fans and especially the players. Like I tell my kids don't take happiness in someones misery.

Disagree......from personal experience, from talking with other former college athletes, and from reading quotes from many others. Professional sports are great, but they are also a Job. And it’s a tough one. The pressures to perform on the professional level are much greater. It’s a business. College sports are played more for the love of the game. But even former professional athletes will say the same thing, that they would give almost anything to play one more game...provided they could do it when they were at their physical best. Even ones that had great careers will always wonder if they couldn’t have done more. Nobody wants to end a career on a losing note, but 99.9% of athletes do. Virtually everyone would love to have a chance to have a do over. No amount of money can change that. Obi will always wonder if they could have won it all. Will he lose sleep over it? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean he won’t think about it from time to time.

I’m just saying Obi will be over it a lot faster then the fans. I also think fans take these loses harder then the players they way sometimes of us act including g myself. This def isn’t hilarious bc I want hoops but the fact VD magic season has come to an end Brings me much pleasure. I can’t help it, I loath them. Feel bad for the players and AG but def not their fans

What you’re missing is that players have a final season. It will never come again. When it’s over, it’s over. But fans always have another season to look forward to. When next season starts, fans will forget all about this past season. Even now we are looking forward to next season. We are already discussing who is coming back and who is coming in. I remember watching X losing in the NCAA tourney as a #1 seed, but I really can’t tell you a whole lot about the game, even though I was there in the stands watching. But the seniors, who played in that game and lost, will replay that game over and over again in their minds. The players that are missing out on getting to do something they have dreamed about and trained for their whole lives will have a hard time ever healing that wound, because they will never get another chance to do it. No matter how many years they play pro and no matter how much money they make they will never get a do over on their college senior season.
“It’s like getting this close to you dreams, and then having them pass right on by”....Moonlight Graham
As far as fans taking it harder than the players....you have no idea what you’re talking about. It’s just that players have to learn how to deal with defeat. It’s something they have to learn. They learn how to deal with it, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t take it hard.

Generally good advice, but this would cancel my entire relationship with UC athletics.
