Would like to see Q start tonite in place of Carter (or Free). Scruggs better at the 2. Naji better at the 3. Tandy nice off bench. Q at or near his best would help immensely

3 possible board predictions after the game.
1) Beat up DePaul and people will say but that’s DePaul (even tho they’re pretty damn good this year).
2) Just get by with win. Steele had trouble adjusting. Why do we play Carter 30 minutes and Q really sucked for those 10 minutes.
3) Get beat and “Fire Travis” thread is on fire for 5 days. Also, it’s Q’s and Carter’s fault.
Me, drinking a cool one (or many) with an an occasional wtf, watching my favorite team for over 35 years, looking forward to a win, and hoping for a great team effort.

Paul Reed is impressive. Obviously will be an NBA guy, but he really jumps off the screen. Shame he plays for DePaul.

Do you think he’s bipolar? :-)
Or maybe his players are up and down? Nah, must be the coach!

With 6 minutes left in the half, we need to hit FT’s! No empty possessions because we are lost at the line.

nice to see double figures from both freshmen and a nice game from Carter and Goodin. Fremantle can play offense well but for some reason does not inspire fear in his opponent on defense. I may go to Providence (which most think is a guaranteed loss) and try to be a good luck charge

For a Frosh, Freemantle gets a lot of blocks around the rim. He’ll keep getting better, I’m sure. He can also hit the deep ball, and that makes him special. Love the young guys.

Indeed they doooo. And lets not even talk about the Tar Heels (who don't deserve to make the CBI, CBS or whatever TLA tournament). But it's still Doooke and they're still top 10, albeit undeserving. Do we think we would beat them at home? IDK and IDC. Buck Futler and Duck Fuke! Let's Roll!

I also like that he doesn't play with much fear either. Has a lot of heart, and his game has shown improvement throughout the season, not much more you can ask for in terms of development and progression. I think he's going to be damn good in the next few years, he's fun to watch.

Yeah, they haven't lost to teams I'd consider "good," just really confusing, I don't know if they just switch off mentally and think they can coast, but definitely some head scratchers there.

Got abused on the defensive end and the Demons were really all out crashing the boards, I think that was their game plan last night. Made it hard for both big men under the rim last night. It seemed to work out for them but left us a lot of good open looks from outside.

Freemantle is pretty good with his help defense- probably where he gets most of his blocks. Even as a freshman his man to man D is rough. He gets abused. I know defense is the hardest thing to pick up as a Freshman, I am not too worried about it.

Oh, I completely agree on both counts. Freshmen bigs rarely see much playing time. Despite his obvious flaw, the good out weigh the bad (IMHO) which indicates greatness ahead - which will be much needed next year since he will be "The Man in the Middle!"

Don't forget about Deonte Miles. He will have a year of training and practicing with the team and building up his body. He is a true 6'11". During the games he played in Spain he looks to have some real talent. He is very smooth and athletic and he can get out on the break and get up and down the court quickly. I expect him to see a lot of time in the middle and would not be surprised to see him start. I don't know how good Ramsey is or can be, but he is a true big (at least as tall has Free), so he could be a lot of help too.

Nice win last night.
After reviewing the game, Brian O'Connell is truly brutal as an official- FOR BOTH SIDES
It is amazing how that guy interjects himself into calls that should, most of the time never be made, or misses just obvious ones that are right under his nose. But say this for him. Dude is not biased.

I'm with ya on that, if Carter can pour in a couple a game and make the opposition at least respect him from behind the arc it'll end up helping this team out tons, it's when teams can just hang back and congest things that we really end up screwing up, considering the stupid turnovers and what not.
