Honestly had zero idea he had a twin brother, and that his brother was drafted so high in the 2003 Draft (LeBron, Melo, Chris Paul, David West, man what a draft!!) but you gotta love hearing these types of stories and just the character Coach Hayes obviously must possess. It's no wonder that he's amazing on the recruiting trail, I really hope we can keep onto him for a few more years before he gets an inevitable opportunity as a head man.

Totally agree.

I really enjoyed posting the article because of our earlier discussion of the strength and composition of the assistant coaching staff, during our little losing streak. I was really impressed with the story of he and his brother staying up all night to scout their opponent via film, and then clear it with their coach to have each team member review their scouting report.

He's a high-character guy, which means he'll recruit high-character guys WITH TALENT.

I hope he is happy and that we can keep him for a few more years.

I definitely think that shows to character, 17 years old, and scouting a team that extensively by cutting up film is someone that appreciates the game, and pays attention to detail. At 17, I never worried about scouting my opponent when playing, I just figured it's the same crap as always, go out there and just perform. Trying to find an edge anywhere is something great coaches have, but to have a very human aspect of it, and connect with people sets you over the top. I definitely think we have a very good coaching staff, some great recruiters in Steele, Johnson, and Hayes, and the passion of Dante and Hayes has been really fun to watch. I think Coach Steele did wonderfully with filling out his staff as a first time head man.

Great to have such a great basketball guy too. Breaking down tape and game planning while still in HS. Going to make someone a good HC someday. Hopefully not too soon.
