The Enquirer today has a full page "letter" from Fox stating that negotiations between Fox and Cincinnati Bell Fioptics are at an impasse. Hopefully this is just a negotiating tactic by Fox, and a deal gets done. Otherwise Fox stations, including FS1 and FS2, will not be available to people like me beginning Jan. 1. That would be a major bummer.

Is it? I'm about a month away from finding out. I just signed up for YouTubeTV, which is about $53 per month (with tax). I will be able to cancel my DirecTV as of January 3, which saves I believe $172/month (outrageous!). So that's almost $120/month in savings. However, AT&T was giving me $30 off my Internet due to the TV bundle, so that reduces my savings by $30. In addition, I had unlimited data on my Internet due to the TV bundle, and I'm a bit in the dark on how much data streaming is going to eat and how much that is going to cost through AT&T. Surely it won't eat up the entire $90, right? Even if it's equal, I already like YouTube TV better, though. The picture quality is better, and I could add another TV in my son's room without the box it would have required from DirecTV (which meant he wasn't getting DirecTV!).
Anyway, sorry for the diversion, but I'm interested to find out how much (if anything) I'm really saving come about a month from now.

I have had youtube tv for about 5 months now and we had the same concerns regarding the internet. However, wife works from home, I have my laptop open working at night a couple of hours, and we have the tv on pretty consistently and we have never come close to being over the data limit. You should be good. In the end, I think we only ended up saving like 30 dollars a month by switching, but not having to deal with a cable company that Jacks with rates every single year is priceless.

If you have any variety of broadband internet service, you will be fine. Don't fret over losing that sky high number. YouTube TV will only need between 1 and 2 mbps. Same with Netflix and Prime. (Prime is a particularly lower quality stream than it should be, but it works.) Unless you are streaming a show in 4k, the bandwidth requirements are pretty easy to reach. Online gaming will require more, but even that isn't as high as the ISPs want to spin your needs.
My fear is that YouTube TV price keeps going up...and then what? If they are less than other pay TV, then they're less. But the price now is $25 more than when I signed up for it. That's a pretty steep jump in just a couple years. I ONLY use it to watch basketball, and maybe something like the presidential debates. We'd not buy it otherwise. I guess now that they have some PBS stuff, I can DVR that, but that's easy to watch online too.
I'd consider ditching Fioptics TV, though. That FOX contract stuff is particular BS. They are likely going to take a revenue hit when many of their regional channels move over to Disney ownership (only to be required to be sold later within 90 days)...so they are trying to sweeten their deals now to pull in cash and shore up losses. The customer is screwed and gets nothing more.
On the other hand, I'm guessing Fox won't be as hard to negotiate with Google. Just a hunch.

I have had YouTube tv for over a year. Love it!!!! Unlimited DVR and the price for me was similar. It’s been $49 for over a year now. Maybe there are different tiers? Best part about YouTube tv is you can have 5 accounts and 3 accounts can watch at one time. So I just spit it with 2 other people and it works out to be around $17 a month. Only downside is if 4 people are watching it will kick someone off.

I have Spectrum, I pay a crazy amount for 5 TV's, I have awesome wi-fi at the house, and I always know where everything is.

Not sure if this is behind a paywall since I’m a subscriber. Some of their stories are and some are not. If they don’t agree to a new contract, the Villanova game might be the last X game FiOptics subscribers can watch since the co tract expires 1/1/20.
Check out this article from Cincinnati.com:
Cincinnati Bell customers could lose access to Fox News, Fox Sports in 2020. Here's why

I think it was $25 when I first subscribed. It was brand new and they've added a lot, but nothing more that I care about.

I’m in my 2nd month with YouTube tv. I love it because I get every X related and other channels are easy to find. Love to DVR shows and games. I started with SlingTV but now love YouTube tv.

I’m a YouTube tv person since PSVUE closed down. Honestly like YouTubetv better. I do wonder what I’ll do when the price of internet and tv programming becomes prohibitive under this set up. Adding on things really can add up. But it’s great for X watching.

I think another huge point is you don't need a cable/satellite tv "box". Its simply your power cord and that's it.

Guess I’ll need to decide between Spectrum and YouTube TV if FiOptics doesn’t get this worked out. At least there’s a little time since the three games after the first of the year are at home.

I have not heard much about YouTube Tv. I have Cincy Bell for internet, DirectTv for TV and ATT for cell phone. I am dissatisfied with all three. I planned to go to Spectrum for TV and internet and not sure about cell phone. Now I am thinking about Sling or YouTube Tv. Does YouTube Tv come with an internet provider? If so, how is it deleivered (phone line, cable, etc)? If not what do you use?

You have to have your own Internet provider for YouTube TV, and it is all delivered via the Internet (wifi). I ditched DirecTV but kept AT&T Internet. We'll see how that works out.

You dont need as much internet as you think from what I understand but that does depend on how many devices you will be using simultaneously in your house.
Also it is pretty easy to get a good internet price as long as you 1. have more than one option where you live, and 2. are willing to switch. I have played Cincinnati Bell and Spectrum off each other multiple times to keep my internet price way down. When my current year is up with Cincinnati Bell I will either gladly switch to a new customer deal with Sepctrum to get a good price locked in for 2 years or give Bell the opportunity to match Spectrums deal. Usually Bell matches.
If you were getting $30 off you internet and still paying a decnt number then you were paying way to much for internet. (Given there are options in your area). I pay I think $40 something, maybe for way internet speed than I need.

I had similar to you until last spring I had DirecTV for TV and Cincy Bell for internet. I kept my cincy bell for internet, ditched DTV and got youtube TV. I also told Bell I was going to leave internet for a better price with Spectrum and Bell matched the price (which lowered my original price) while giving me significant more internet speed.
Cut the cord, you will be very happy you did. I have honestly never heard anyone who did who decided to go back to cable.

Do what the rest of us millennials do... Cut the cord save 150 bucks and use the savings to go to a local bar, support a local business and go out to watch the games.
