Senior point guard Quentin Goodin dashed to the free throw line, received a pass and, without hesitation, bounced the ball inside to a forward breaking toward the basket for a layup. The simple move underscored Xavier’s improvement in its second year under coach Travis Steele (https://apnews.com/db289057c0d341ed9c95c6e7e5163798) .After getting through a difficult transition season with an inexperienced roster and injured starters, the Musketeers are back to being ranked and regarded as a threat in the Big East.No. 19 Xavier returns four starters from a team that came together at the end of last season, led by Goodin and top scorer Naji Marshall. Unlike last season when they went 19-6 and 9-9 in the Big East, the Musketeers have a little bit of everything this time, including a deeper roster at every spot.

The most akward intro ever? Was this the end of last year, was this practice, was this the akron game off record???? Talk about lacking appropriate context, jeesh!

Dang man. We have a preseason article written by AP and you're complaining because they don't mention whether some play was in practice or a practice game?

No i couldnt care less when/where it happened, its just crap journalism and a terrible intro. If its going to be an AP story, I expect better. Leading lines should set the tone for the story. In this case, it had absolutely nothing to do with the article. Bugged me enough to post! Moving on....

We're talking about practice. Not a game. We're talking about practice, man. I mean how silly is that. And we're talking about practice. I know it's important. I do, I honestly do. But we're talking about practice, man. What are we talking about? Practice? We're talking about practice, man?

I'm just happy he got an assist instead of jacking up a brick 3.
