If you are in the Cincinnati region then set your DVR's to record this Saturday, October 26th at noon on Channel 12. Xavier Athletics is partnering with WKRC for a one hour men's basketball preseason special. I believe there was a special on Fox19 last year, so it's a new channel this year. It will be interesting to see if it is available anywhere else... goXavier.com etc... for those that are out of the market. Hopefully so.

With all the rain, I ended up being home and could watch the broadcast. Loved Q’s answer at the end as to Xavier’s all time leading scorer. I’ll leave it at that.

What did he say?
He drew a blank on Byron’s name at first and then said “the light skinned left handed guy”. Then he remembered the last name and said Larkin.

Probably my favorite part of the preseason special was the interview w/ Byron and Joe and how that bond has strengthened over the years. I know that listening to games on the radio isn't the most popular way to get your Xavier fix with every game being nationally televised and all the streaming options available, but we really are lucky to have them. I certainly listen to the pre and post game interviews to and from the games and if possible sinc up the radio to the tv for away games (unless it's Bill R and Gus)... and they do a fantastic job with the coach's show.

Skinner's Top 5 Musketeers was a massive disappointment...or Skinny hasn't watched a Xavier game in 20 years.
I thought the show was largely disappointing and at time, cringe-worthy corniness. I did LOVE the Q&A contest at the end with Tyrique and Q, and wish they would have done a lot more of that.
Oh and if you're going to interview Jason Carter with Leighton Schrand circling the interview, can we at least speak to him too and involve him a little? Seemed so odd.
Overall, I like the ones that Fox 19 did in the past much, much better.

That show was WEAK SAUCE!! It had the feel of a school project thrown together at the last minute. Shannon Russell and Rick Boring seemed ill prepared for the Q&A, and were dressed like slobs.
I was very underwhelmed with the production, with an unprepared Gary Miller, and the content in general. I couldn't even watch through the end of the program, it was that bad.

Agreed. Very boring for a preseason hype show. Producer needs to prepare for more scenarios that set up college kids who are not used to speaking with the media in a better light. More footage of drills run in practice, or some breakdown of game philosophy would really be fun for real fans.

I recorded it but haven't watched....maybe I'll give it a miss and save a bit of space on my DVR instead.
