Don't know if this COLLEGE HOOPS PRE-SEASON TOP 25 was posted anywhere else. I almost posted it the other day.

Thought it made sense to put it here since it was also from NBC Sports. X gets talked about a bit at the 45:47 mark of podcast (for those who do not want to listen to the entire podcast) which is found bellow #2 Kentucky on the page.

Thanks for the fast forwarding stuff! Does sound most understand what we have returning as a team and now have legitimate back up vs last year. Also, seems like some think Steele finally got his legs underneath him towards end of season. From a coaching perspective, should be an interesting development to watch this year.

Just wish he knew how to pronounce Kyky’s name. Guess it’s a Xggsvier thing?

To be honest, I'm not surprised, if you think about All-Americans and what it takes for someone to have that accolade, it's pretty tough, our last All-American was Tu if I remember correctly right? Coming off a 19.7 ppg, 5.4 apg, and 1.4 spg season. We know how talented Naji is, and we know how high his ceiling is, I genuinely do believe Naji can be an All-American at the end of the season, but there were stretches throughout last season he wasn't at that caliber. I do think he's going to have a monster year for us, but I can totally understand how he's not an All-American, now All-Big East is kind of another story

There is a loose interpretation of an "all american"

David West won some versions of Player of the Year vs I believe TJ Ford.

Tu might have been honorable mention. 4Trevon was 3rd team .

Please correct my errors if at all.

That was a little funny to hear- "KI-KI Tandy has a chance to be really good."

I don't know how long beyond the Xavier mention on the podcast you listened, but I found odd a little later when talking about All Americans (at the 102:51 mark) the same guy mentions X and seems like he is about to mention Naji as a sleeper pick for All-American when the other dude (Rob) cuts him off and it never gets brought up again.

The weird thing is that reags is from Kentucky and I think still lives in cincy although maybe he’s moved after getting full time at barstool. Still you’d think he would’ve been exposed to kyky a little more.

D west won every player of the year award except the wooden I think. That’s the only poy award ford won instead of west. Kinda wild.

Tu was a third teamer I think and Trevon made the second team

Ford won the Wooden and the Naismith. West won the AP and some other award I’ve never heard of before or since, I think named after Oscar Robertson.

T.J. Ford was one of my least favorite players of all time, and almost certainly the most over-rated. It was a joke that he won anything over West, but Ford was a Vitale/media darling for whatever reason. Look up the list of Naismith winners, and T.J. Ford sticks out like the sorest of thumbs.

yea, baffling to some extent that he won player of the year. scored a horribly inefficient 15 points a game and had 7.7 apg which was his calling card. Almost 8 assists is a lot, but to be national POY with that line is crazy. 27% from 3 and only 42% from 2. really bad
