I suspect if Ben doesn't pick X, Steele will look for a graad transfer.

Hoping Ben picks X over Stanford and Purdue.

Wow heard not too long ago WVU fans were mad at him because they thought this wasn’t going to happen. Just shows how fast things can change. Let’s go Ben!

I still think Ben C. is and was the staff's #1 priority at this position.

Obviously picking WVU he has no plans of spending any time at all getting an education.

Spoken like a scorned lover.

I hope you are correct and X gives him free ice cream from the cafeteria.

No, spoken like someone who reads about recruiting and is commenting on a thread about a recruit.

Any reason you have to act like such a jackass?

Timing is great.

Are you saying timing issues often cause you to act like an asshole on an internet message board?

From the program building perspective, this kind of reminds me when we were recruiting Ed Pinkney (sp) under Gillen and lost that battle to Villanova. As most of you will recall, Villanova went on with him to win their first national championship.

I do really hope we get this guy.

I have been told that Pickney committed at the end of the visit, and then went home and changed his mind.

(This was under Staak, not Gillen.)

I agree with Ben. Especially since Dwon used his official on Ben’s visit and this weekend is big for priorities.

Wasn't he the recruit that said he was waiting until Haloween?

We’ve lost a lot of battles to nova over the years. Pinckney, Lowry, Hart, bey, swider... would’ve been nice

Nah, WVU fans are just fickle about everything, and there's some guy that claims to be a source of "Mountaineer news" but just posts a bunch of click bait, false information to get views, ended up riling up some fans on Twitter, who tweeted at Bridges, and Bridges commented on how messed up that was (public reminder to never tweet at recruits), but WVU was very confident in getting Bridges, I was more so shocked when he was taking a visit here than finding out he committed to WVU today

My understanding with Lowry was that we won that battle and chose to not let him commit because we wanted Odia instead. That came straight from Amy Miller. We were lucky enough to sit with her on senior night during Sean's second year coaching. She said that was his biggest regret at that time as X's coach.

What a weird deal that whole Odia thing was. Until your post caused me to look him up, I had forgotten that he transferred to Oregon. Kid played 4 years of college basketball and never scored more than 86 points in a season.

Matta was head coach at the time this took place. But I've heard the same story- X took Odia over Lowry, and could have Lowry.
