Nia Clark, who had offers from UC and Ohio State coming out of high school, has transferred to Xavier from Miami (Ohio).
She had a season-ending knee injury last season as a freshman after only nine games (she started six), but averaged 11 points per game on 43 percent shooting, and 44 percent from three. A small sample size, but good numbers for a freshman on a veteran team that finished in the top 50 of the RPI. Miami's coach, Megan Duffy, left for Marquette after the season ended. Clark had a season-high 17 points in a loss at No. 5 Louisville.
The Xavier release makes it sound like she'll be immediately eligible. I admittedly have a hard time understanding when someone does/does not have to sit out a year when transferring these days, so I'm not totally clear. Also have no idea how rehab has gone.
In any event, this seems like a very nice pickup by Moore's staff very quickly after getting to work.
