Why do we keep getting shit on by crap teams in these things? Geezus...freaking tcu? I would have literally taken any other team in the big 12 than them.

especially if they lose jamie dixon, that's a terrible game.
also texas tech vs. depaul is awful. gonna be a slaughter. what's the point?

Yeah TCU would have been towards the bottom for me. them and OK State.
Would have loved:
1. Kansas (knew it would be Nova tho)
2. WVU
3. TT
4. K state
5. OU
6. Baylor
7. Texas
8. Iowa State
9. TCU
10. OK state
So I guess they would have been my 9th choice.

How the hell did they not decide to pair Huggins vs Xavier?? THE STORYLINES WRITE THEMSELVES. Annoying.

A few of these games were already predetermined due to previously agreed home and homes- Nova/KU, OU/CU, KSU/MU.
I thought we would get Baylor. TCU is disappointing...

Georgetown at Oklahoma State
i think the big east winners will be... Xavier, Marquette, Seton Hall with some tossups with Nova, Creighton, Providence, and Georgetown (maybe butler). depaul and st john's are losers here

You mean they didn’t look at our poll? It’s been up for months! Just can’t trust polls these days...

At least it is a road game. If we have to play a mediocre Big 12 team might as well be on the road where a win would help more. Of course we need to win but seems like we should.

Guys, this is a Quad 1 game as long as half the team doesn't leave if Dixon does. What do you want? We are coming off a non tourney season and aren't expected to be ranked next year either. Who did you all think we were going to play?

I literally would have preferred any team listed other than OK State. TCU just seems like a boring game. But yeah if it turns out to be a quad 1 opportunity that is all you can ask for.

The Villanova vs Kansas, Providence vs Texas, and Creighton vs Oklahoma are all return games as these were home and home series already ongoing. So Xavier was not getting any of those three. WVU had their worst season in 20 years as a program last year, lost their starting point guard to transfer, and their best player to the NBA draft. They will be dog shit next year. Kansas State losses a ton as well as Dean Wade and others exhausted their eligibility. Oklahoma State is a complete rebuild. That leaves Iowa State, Baylor, Tech, and TCU. All 4 of those games on the road will be a quad 1 game. I would have obviously preferred Tech or Iowa State but TCU preseason will be in the top 5 of the conference.

That, and a W.
After our non-con this past year we can't afford to take anything for granted.
Any team, any where, anytime. Just win!

Yeah WVU was just more about beating Huggins again. That will NEVER get old.Would love to kick Huggs ass in Cintas again someday.

These match ups often don't make sense to me. We have been one of the top Big East programs for the last 4-5 years. We should be getting matched up with the top 1-3 teams with these tourneys. I get Nova being #1 and getting Kansas. WTF?

Literally any other team in the big 12 would have been better in my opinion. Tcu (though better) is like the DePaul of the big east...no one cares.

WVU would have been a great story line with Huggs. WVU will also have the McBride kid from Moeller as a freshman next year.

The puzzling thing is Texas Tech playing at DePaul? While Xavier plays at TCU? Would have been really nice to get a game with Tech on the schedule.

The only thing I can add is that it would be nice to think with our history & track record one down season would be at least a bit overlooked. #notthereyet

a few of these games are return games of home and homes from last year. (Kansas v Nova, OK v Creighton, Texas v Prov, Marq v KState) So that took out some of the options, plus what ever other scheduling things are already in place.

I know it doesn't mean a ton because it's way too early and he's a moron but Seth Davis has TCU at 20 for his rankings for next year.

Does that change anyone's opinion yet?

It does change mine a little bit, that and I thought Dixon was gone. So, him coming back definitely improves my view on the opponent. TCU just isn’t a sexy matchup at all, but if x wins and tcu has a good year, that’s all that matters in the end.

I agree that TCU isn't a name but I think that is what everyone is caught up on. And I'd rather have a good resume game than playing some overrated big name.

Damnation. We really have become "entitled" haven't we?
Jeezuz. We just came off a season with a new coach, missed the NCAA, and people are bitching about a quality game ON THE ROAD, vs a projected Top 25 team next year. We are also losing 3 guys and have 5 brand new guys coming in that we'll be mixing in in early December.
15 years ago, we'd be ecstatic over a game like this. Make no mistake, we are still rebuilding here. We'll get there, but asking for a home game with Kansas is just ridiculous. We haven't earned anywhere near that status yet.

More of a name than tcu. Xavier has some basketball tradition, TCU has zero.

Considering that outside of villanova, xavier has had the most success during the new be, it's really not a lot to ask to be matched up with a Texas tech, Texas, Oklahoma, iowa state, baylor vs a no name school like tcu (even though they may actually make the tourney next year) t's not 15 years ago and we arent in the a10 anymore. Yeah x had a bump in the road this year, it happens to most if not all programs, but this is xavier...we make ncaa tournaments, win games in them and frankly I think x should demand better matchups in these things such as the gavitt games and this be-big 12 crap.

for coaches, yes, but in media, X is not near Gonzaga or other top 25 teams.
X perception took a hit after Mack left. Steele will have to show everyone that X is a top 20 team year in and out.

TO be fair about the BE/Big Ten challenge we have faced two good programs. Michigan and Wisconsin. It just sucks we played wisconsin twice and we played them in the tourney so its kind of old news with them.

Xavier is more of a name than TCU in basketball, but no, I don't think many people get particularly excited to see Xavier on the schedule.
