And maybe even NCAA Tournament Regional Champs.

Next season: National champs.

I will be at BE tourney (I go every year). Hoping to see a huge X crowd there for the games and to witness our guys cutting down the net.

I want to win the whole damn thing. I want it and I want it now. We are good enough to do it, and screw everyone else. I want our young men to be Champions.

I do too. Steele will need to stick with the hot hand for that to happen though. At times this team plays like an unstoppable train. Then there are moments when they play like an out of control, runaway train, coming off the rails. I can’t help but think that if Steele kept Hankins in for the last 6 minutes, he would have kept swatting away some of those shots that floated over shorter arms into the basket) and kicking out long rebounds for open 3s and he would have continued putting in anything that came to him down low... and X would have won.

It’s not all bad though. Wealage and Zack showed some amazing chemistry. This team has not fully peaked just yet.

Lesson for Steele: If you have a player who is in his last year of eligibility who is playing out of his mind in a late season game, leave him the hell in the game. Nobody will have a greater will to win.

Meh, he was gassed. He absolutely needed a rest- not for the rest of the game but certainly a little bit.

Looking at remaining schedules, I think it is very possible that we end up in a 4/5 matchup against Creighton in the first round, and then nova. Should be an interesting tournament.

Although, I don't know how the tie breakers work if x tiew with Creighton and gtown at 9-9 which to me looks probable......So I was interested and looked up the tiebreakers. if I understand correctly, we hold the tiebreaker over Creighton and Georgetown by virtue of winning against Nova.

So, win Saturday and grab the 3 seed, unless Georgetown wins at Depaul and at Marquette. Hopefully whoever ends up playing Marquette in their first game knocks them off...I don't like the matchup even though they could always have a cold shooting night.

Nope. Not so Meh to me.

Please watch it again. You will clearly see he was playing like an unstoppable beast when Steele took him out- not like someone looking for a breather.

As as soon as he sat, Butler went on a 6-0 run (then 9-2) and all of the sudden Butler had success driving and scoring over other players in the paint.

Hankins sitting lead to X having more difficulty scoring on offense and Butler having an easier time scoring on offense. When Hankins sat, X got away from their game taking some wild (low percentage) shots and it ultimately lead to the loss.

On another note, Baldwin got away with a good 3 or 4 fouls during that stretch. I think the refs were instructed not to call anything on him. He got away with another hacking foul and a charge later in the game as well. Still, I am convinced that if Hankins stayed in a little longer and was given a breather 4 minutes later, X would have won.

Xavier would own that tiebreaker IF Villanova finishes above Marquette in the standings.

Marquette plays at Seton Hall tonight and hosts Georgetown on Saturday. Villanova is idle until Saturday when they go to Seton Hall. The Pirates are going to be in desperation mode for their NCAA lives and Georgetown isn't a gimme for Marquette either.

Frankly, there are way too many combinations of results possible this week to try to decipher the tiebreakers and seeds right now.

The way this season has gone and the way this team plays in spurts, it's entirely possible. It's also entirely possible we don't win in the first round. It's been a roller coaster this season.
