Each school would receive about $42 million from this deal, according to different babbling sources. Conference would sign over 10% of equity.

Crazy.

The focus of that post is on the go-forward primary driver for sustaining program success: strong media rights/positioning for financial and brand awareness.

We otherwise all know and agree about the importance of administrative commitment. ND fans are shaking their heads over the Clemson bludgeoning. One fan's thoughts:

"Obviously I’d prefer if he were, but even a non-fan should be able to grasp the importance of elite football to Notre Dame’s unique identity and understand the benefits. Unfortunately, one gets the impression that our history of excellence in football strikes the current leadership more as a burden than an institutional strength upon which to build. This is only one component of Jenkins’ lack of vision."

Of course, if basketball continues to bring us relative success where the University continues its ascent, then what a problem to have.

I don't think their football/basketball teams are quite this good.

Is the administration support not there for Notre Dame football? Or is it a case of unreasonable fans wanting a stronger commitment when the level of resources dedicated to football is already high? I mean, yeah, Notre Dame got their asses kicked, but that was in a championship playoff game.
