Maybe I've had a few too many tonight but they seem a lot better playing aggressive D and pushing in transition. I thought earlier in the season there was some talent here which might still be there but not like last year. I don't think we have the shooting or handlers to be a great or even good half court offense but I think we do have athletes to play good D and create offense off it if Steele can figure it out

But Xavier has 27 turnovers against EKU, who is ranked 258th in the country by KenPom. EKU sucks, there's no way around it.

It certainly seems so doesn't it?
X has not, for many years, had a culture of taking care of the ball. And, I suppose any up-tempo offense that stresses pushing the ball must be willing to tolerate some above average level of turnovers. That said, I cannot recall any Xavier team that so casually disrespects the idea of taking care of the ball. Tonight was ridiculous!

I think they will hold up against Big East competition. There will be no gimmes(and there have not been, remember Depaul and St Johns last year..could have gone either way.

NOT trying to draw major comparisons here, but the stats of the game reminded me of the great throttling of the number one St. Joseph's in the A-10 tournament in 2004. 87-67 Win at UD arena. You might be surprised to know that Xavier had 26 turnovers and shot 71% from the floor. Very similar stats in this game. Obviously, that Xavier team was better than this one and EKU is clearly no SJU. Anyway, I remember how similar the stats were.

I'd like to see a game log. I know Xavier had doubled St. Joe's 74-37 at one point. I suspect a majority of the Xavier turnovers came in the meaningless 30-13 run St. Joe's finished that game on.

Again, not as important, but Chaminade beating Virginia was a MUCH bigger upset. Ralph Sampson was one of the greatest college basketball players of all time, and Chaminade was a tiny NAIA school. It would have been like Thomas More beating the Kenyon Martin UC team.
