Anyone working downtown and taking off for the game?
I will be watching at the Banks. Thinking Holy Grail or the half price appetizers at the Yardhouse.

Which reminds me.
The Holy Grail use to be on Charlton in Clifton, where Hang Over Easy is now.
Do any of you old timers remember the name of the bar that use to be there long before the Holy Grail...in the mid '70's ?

It was down the hill from In Cahoots, on the corner where Hang Over Easy (and in the same building) is now.
Pretty sure I'll recognize the name if someone comes up with it. Not the Lakewood or The Daniel.
Had etched glass of a city skyline on either the window that faced the street...or the glass behind the bar.

Was it Hoot Goldfarbs at some point and very briefly, back in the P.W. Adderly's / Dollar Bills days???
Perhaps I'm just having an acid flashback from those days at the (old) Ludlow Garage.
Regardless I am unable to view live, downtown or otherwise, thank God for DVR.
Go Muskies!!!!!

This is a bit before my time, but I am the youngest in my family. Is the bar you're thinking of called Hi-Rise?
(Which I think later became Kilgore's.)

Thanks for the suggestions!
Haven't hit on it yet. It's driving some friends of mine who use to go there in the 70's crazy because we can't remember.
It sucks getting old.

Doubt if I'll go Downtown to watch the game.
As far as the off topic: It was a few different very short lived bars in the 90s.
Kilgors and Daniels are both different buildings/different streets. I don't know if I remember In Cahoots, but that might have been nearby in the Firehouse?
The HiRise Deli is totally different and still in business.
I used to spend hours looking through albums in Wizard's Cave there in between, which I think is a barber shop now.

Many of the places mentioned were in the upper Vine area, but not all at the same time.
40 years ago is a long time and places have come and gone. Someday I'm going to find the name of this place (as it is driving me and 2 friends that went there all the time nuts that we can't think of it.)
Use to eat at In Cahoots which was on the corner of Vine and Charlton, next to Bogarts, and across from Zino's that I think is a Firehouse or something now. Then we'd roll down the little hill to this place on the corner where Hang Over Easy is now.
