Given the roster turnover from last year, I'm interested to see what happens.

Is there a reason we don’t just hire another coach? I gotta think the Brian neal experiment has proven a failure at this point

Does anyone remember how long Neal's contract was?

From what I can find, I believe his contract is up after this season.

My guess is that with the turnover at the end of last season it was decided to let this one run its course.

I don’t think Christopher wanted to replace two basketball coaches at the same time but one has to wonder if he’s a dead man walking.

For what it's worth, this is Brian Neal's first year where he has an entire roster of his own players. Frankly, from watching them in the past, their offense has been effective but they have simply have had trouble finishing on wide open opportunities. This roster is a little different from the ones he's worked with in the past, so this could be a good year to see how it all shakes out for Neal.

My guess is that financially, the women's program can't afford to fire Neal and then pay another coach, even for one year.

The first 3 years under Brian Neal saw the program go from an abysmal 3-15 record in Big East play to 8-10 in years 2 and 3 (along with a WBI appearance in 2014-15). It looked like things were going in the right direction, but then a major regression took place the last two seasons.

I realize Neal had to start up very late in the process in year 1, but it would seem the last two seasons have been under his watch, for better or worse.
